Im an elder millennial, and my life was hugely affected by the 2008 crash. I worked in legal finance for an oil and gas company in Houston, so I saw the finance schemes these I-banker-types cooked up. I learned the lesson, “we used to be a country that made things, now we are a country that makes things up.”

That was the lesson I learned from Enron, but what should we have taken away as a society? I think how to avoid scammers with financial products should be our primary lesson. I think some people learned to become the scammer and not the mark.
