Quite possibly the best song ever made. That voice. Incredible. Gives me chills no matter how often I've heard it. And the band, so obviously musically gifted with an amazing sense of fun style.

I was in basic training in Fort Knox, Kentucky when this song came out, this song was the summer hit of 1980, 1 of my all time favorites

One of the best club songs of the 80s to dance. Stands the test of time today. It was a time when we young people all dressed well and took pride in our threads and looks.

I used to love this song when I was a kid. Seeing this 🎥 shows how talent the funk bands were. They looked good and sounded great.

The Atlanta, GA-borne band was started in 1977, when keyboardist/vocalist Jason Bryant, saxophonists Billy Ellis and Willie “Sonny” Killebrew, guitarist Bruno Speight, bassist John Alexander Simpson, drummer James Earl Jones III, and lead vocalist Mary Davis formed a group called Santa Monica that played at Atlanta nightclub the Regal Room... many thanks for your amazing contribution to music - and to humanity!

🎶One of the best of the best music I ever heard in those times. With so much energy & gd vibes, probably over 50 or more people of all ages danced for hrs in the middle of a closed street or a school yard while the DJ put his records & everyone was so full of excitement for the next song. You danced w/anyone not even knowing them. That's how cool it was back then in the early 80's in North Philly. Those were the good o'l days. Everyone got along no matter what color you were. Never a fight broke out. That's how cool we had it back then. 🎵

The late Don Cornelius didn’t like the whole band’s instruments on stage. However, when The SOS BAND & other groups did it showed the authenticity of how the music was genuinely made!!!

She had lovely hips, properly accentuated by the costume. I think this song is a good tribute to some well-established love bond. By the way, I'm white, done it with a black girl, and the beat goes on.
