I think the defensive hook curl focuses most on the part of the briceps brachii that attaches on the coracoid process of the scapula (the more medial attachment) because it assists in medial rotation and horizontal adduction as well. Of course the biceps brachii fires all at once, but I think the connective tissue stresses are targeting that inner, superior attachment of the biceps brachii more. Fun to analyze and speculate for us anatomy needs 😂
