I had a conversation 2 days ago with an evangelical who confidently stated we were heading to the rapture because everyone was turning against israel.
I told them again and again of the nations that are supporting israel still and the nations that arent supporting israel are ones that never supported them.
They, unfortunately, couldnt engage with the conversation because they were so deep in their religious ferver.

Hey, I don't know exactly what's up with the American evangelicals. But in Germany us baptists, yes we support Israel and yes it is viewed as Gods people and it plays some role for us. But it's no big deal. Maybe because we welcome everyone, or maybe because of our difficult past. Can't say. I just can say, our sympathy for the jewish people is generous

Evangelical Christians loved the Jews so much that they arranged for the Jews to return to their homeland, rather than welcoming them into the Allies countries.
They were trying to force Bible prophesy to become true. (nevermind that the area had been populated by non-jewish Palestinians for at almost 1000 years and the incoming Jewish government refused to grant equal right to these people. The fact that the Jewish people did not, in fact conquer the land, and instead were planted there by the US, England, and to a lesser extent France and the USSR is a big problem.
The Christians believe this will bring Jesus back faster. They do not give a F about the Jewish people.
