Randy's my favorite guitarist of all time. It kinda sucks that EVH has a long history where Randy had 3 years in the spotlight before his passing. For fans of Randy this can be a debate or those that were around that time or are just Rhoads fans. Both great guitarists and to me Randy will forever be underated because of his life being cut short.

Most guitar players say Eddie or Jimi . Randy was a great player, but not much of an innovator. People say randy was the 1st to combine rock & classical, but that feat belongs to Micheal Schenker. Just listen to every soundtrack in the 80s! Everyone copied Ed.

Unfortunately Randy didn’t have the time to extend his talents as Ed did living into his 60’s but with that said RR was phenomenal with Ozzy and wasn’t close to his peak who knows!

Both were so immensely talented it’s hard to fathom, it’s not really fair to compare EVH’s huge decades long catalog to Randy’s unfortunately short one. He undoubtedly would have went on to amaze us for decades just like Eddie, it sadly wasn’t to be. Just when I think I’ve decided this debate for myself, I will hear something from the other guy that changes my mind or casts doubt on my earlier decision. Thank you to both Eddie and Randy for making my life interesting in that regard, and for just kicking ass on the axe, RIP legends.❤️💯🔥
