Crazy Clown Oscar Bait! | Joker Final Trailer Reaction

I can't decide if this looks like a film that's embarrassed to be a comic book movie or a film that's trying to elevate comic book movies to some kind of art from. Either way, it doesn't look like the Joker from the comics. Not that Leto's Joker did either, but it's still a departure some people may not be onboard with.

Why would anyone want to see Batman in a Joker movie? Because we've seen that before and recently. I love the fact this is standing on it's own as a separate entity.

Because this is a movie for more mature audience, that's why is rated R. For the rest are still Marvel movies available. I'm looking forward to watch these new kind of comic books-based movies

But what if the twist is that the whole film is a story he’s made up for himself in his head to make him seem like a better person. Like he made up a story where he has a laughing disorder and not clinically insane (or hyper-sane).

In fact there was an entire comic book series of comics titled.. "JOKER".

So why not a film about just Joker?

$1B in the box office later. Well, it seems like a whole LOT of people liked the movie. Me, included.

Even weirder is that Bruce Wayne is a young child (his parents are still alive at the time) during the events of the film, and the joker seems to already be in his late 30s to mid 40s. I'm not knocking the film for this, it just seems like a weird timeline if the joker is an old man by the time Bruce even becomes Batman to begin with. But it's an elseworld story, so changes are inevitable, I guess.

You touched on the truth I suspect...this wont be 'the Joker'...just 'JOKER'...it will be oscar bait but yes, I do think it's a story it needs to be told, I think they're going down a mental health/social disconnection pathos thing and the joker gives a good springboard for that...but it won't be 'the joker' by any stretch. Best treated as a different beast, I guess.

If you read the comic books you would know. The other jokers never had any scars on there face.. Dark knight was different. Bruce Wayne is like 8 years old in this movie. This is about his father Thomas Wayne and Bruce's parents got shot after the theater. Bruce Wayne was left with his butler. It's the beginning.... every comic every movie talks about what happened to his parents. AND NOW they're finally making it happen. Takes place before batman was batman. It's perfect.

This "Joker" character could be a precursor to "The Joker" that goes off to be a batman villain. Maybe a future Joker picks up this one's identity

An origin story for the joker does work, the killing joke comic is considered the definitive joker story (I know the animated version sucked blame Bruce timm) which this looks similar to, there are multiple jokers as well also this is an elseworlds story in that its not yet in the dcu which dc fans enjoy ever heared of the term anyone can become the joker all it takes is one bad day this is one version of a bad day.

My biggest issue that I have with people complaining about this film is the argument that this is not the joker first of all Todd Phillips was very clear that this film addresses where a guy like the joker come from in a more realistic world so it’s not trying to be like the comic book version of the joker. Second of all people do is complain about how the movies don’t include Batman or it’s doing something completely different that they’ve never heard of but when comic Books do it it’s welcomed comic books can do no wrong and whatever happens in a comic book is the only thing that’s allowed to happen in other media

Kids won't watch it. Adults will for sure
