Excellent video ! I've been doing your "shot quality / timeline stack" technique for years. It works because you get to see ALL the footage quickly and rate the shots as you go. Then when your polishing the final video edit you can quickly find just the best b-roll (on the top layers) ! LOVE IT ! GREAT WORK !

Rendering, Proxies, Export Settings, AND WORKFLOW, are the really ugly behind the scenes things that must be nearly mastered to put out a video that is tolerable at best.
