In a society based on economic foundations, the leisure activities that had developed in the second half of the 20th century were gradually recovered by the economic machine and began their inexorable transfer from the sphere of human development to that of consumerist entertainment.

Until 30 years ago, we practiced an activity for personal development. We benefited from developing our cultural knowledge or physical skills without any direct link to our professional life and to the consumer society.

Now, the hobbies that were part of our intimate bubble and that served as a loophole are gradually being stolen from us by the system. They are integrated into a scheme that aims to make the most of our free time.

We have thus moved from a society of personal leisure to a society of capitalist, intrusive and omnipresent entertainment. So what remains for us as a personal perspective?

A simple silent walk has now become a dream ride. It cuts us off from this effervescence and reconnects us with ourselves, with our roots and with nature. Whether on foot, by car or by boat, it reminds us that as humans whose basic needs are no longer to be met, we only aspire to simple happiness. This joy of being at peace with oneself and with the world around us is rooted in each of us.

So what is the point of wandering around for a lifetime in search of a commercial mirage presented as happiness ?
