Engineering Challenge

This lesson provides a basic introduction to the various specialty areas within engineering, then focuses specifically on the civil engineering discipline of structural engineering. The general engineering design process is introduced, followed by a discussion of load types (dead, live, dynamic, point, distributed), equilibrium, and reaction forces. (Note: This lesson can be used in conjunction with the Engineering Challenge Lesson and the Structures, Statics, and the Environment Lesson to be used as a unit series covering civil engineering, loads, and structures).
