Gun Runner was 1 of the best horses i have seen in the last decade...He turned into a monster...His early running style and strong kick was absolutely devastating...Once he hit his peak no field could come close to him...Blowing the doors off every field they entered him in...Gun Runner was a "great" horse...His 3 yr old season was consistent enough for me before he turned into a beast

Shame to see Arrogate's career end how it has. He was a good horse. That being said, the American Pharoah comparison needs to end and the Secretariat comparison is NO comparison. Both better than Arrogate. Congratulations to Gun Runner, best in the race and horse of the year. Way to go!

When you keep a Good Horse in Training and let them Mature you can sometimes get a Gun Runner who turns into an absolute Monster...Drew away from all rivals in the Stretch during his Win streak to close out his Career...Looked like this Field could have ran around the Track again and Still not Catch this Horse...Closer he got to the Wire the stronger he got...Similar to Mitole

It was a 2 horse race right from the start. Honest pace too. Gun Runner came into town to take on the hot, horse for the course Collected and prevailed. Beat the non-speed favoring biased track on a day full of upsets too going wire to wire as the co-favorite. I liked his gameness and saw his maturity in last years BC Dirt Mile against older horses. Trainer and jockey have been perfect with him too.

Still think GR is a severely underrated horse. Everyone fawns over Arrogate, especially after Dubai. But including Dubai, GR was superb as an older horse. The proof is the Dubai race. He was incredible that night only bested by a freakish trip from Arrogate. Also I will take FG any day if I needed to choose a jockey.

A great race from Gun Runner, who answered every question about his stamina, winning from the front while being pushed by Collected throughout.

This should definitely put an end to the "Arrogate is the greatest ever" argument. Arrogate is an excellent horse, he's had some spectacular wins, and he will surely be in the Hall of Fame one day. But he is not "the Man o' War of the 21st century", he is not "the greatest horse since Secretariat", and he is not even the best horse of this decade. There is only one king of racehorses for the 2010s so far, and his name is American Pharoah. You can debate Gun Runner, Arrogate, and California Chrome for second place (though, Gun Runner will be back next year, and could certainly still make a case for first).

Either arrogate has some sort of ailment that they haven't figured out yet or he just wants to retire, regardless he ran the fastest travers EVER and was dominate for a time there. You don't run the fastest Travers ever on luck. This goes to show some horses are delicate with that invisible line when pushed over they change. Regardless he does have the ability to dominate just doesn't want to do it... Gun Runner has been solid his whole career and prove he wants to race right now.. Both horses are very special and owners try there whole live to come across one.. My buddy owned a nice chunk of Unified who is also a son of Candy Ride but clearly GR is Candy Rides best offspring.. Who was the better race horse??? I would have to say Gun Runner.. Who will produce the better offsprings will decide who is the all around better horse ... Great run by Collected..congrats to Gun Runner and Del Mar on a solid 2days ..

First. I eat crow. Fantastic Chamionship performance by GUN RUNNER hounded by COLLECTED every step of the wsy on a track that didn't favor speed the two days of the BC. He put him away and drew off. I didn't think he could get 10f and he did very convincingly GUN RUNNER is a besst and a champion! Hats off to a grest race and champion....this angers me and i am sick & tired of trainers like Bob Baffert & Todd Pletcher never give any credit to the winner. No humility or grace. Just a whinefest of woe is me. Ssme for Mike Smith. This was NBC. Bob Baffert received 30% of the $6 million dollar purse. We are supposed to feel sorry for him? Please. GUN RUNNER is a champion. Givs him the respect he deserves. He has mine now.

Singled gun runner in the third leg of my pick 3. Singled all three races. .50 cents returned 353. By far the craziest sequence of wagers I've bet on and hit. 6 1 5. It's kinda like a puzzle even.

1:59:36, 2:00:11; 2:00.70 for all 1 1/4 races for arrogate in the deeper quick sand type tracks of Delmar & Saratoga. 🙏. Regardless, AP has my heart because first triple 👑 & saw him in elmont but wish I could've seen arrogate in person also.
