What amazes me about world cup this year is how the smaller teams managed to make life very difficult for the top teams. No top teams have won decisively except for Belgium

Good analysis but what you forget to mention: Mexico played defensive style AND are dangerous on the counter, Germany clearly lacked a holding midfielder there and Low selected the wrong players. Sweden on the other hand played ultra-defensive style as a point was enough for them - so it seemed. Even with 11 vs 10 they were surrendering possession instead of trying to win. The high risk approach of Low put Germany in the best position to create chances and they had a lot of them. Boateng was a key player in attack with his passing skills and long strides pushing the ball forward. He's quick enough still to recover in many situations so using his strengths in attack as well was a great move. Bringing on Gomez kept the Swedish centerbacks honest and busy. I agree that Germany lacked combinations from central midfield into the box but as those combinations include a high risk of a counter attack that's perfectly understandable.
Low's tactics were extremely risky but in this situation it gave Germany the best shot to score against one of Europe's finest defenses. As the tournament goes on, tactics will certainly change. South Korea already has to win convincingly and even if they don't believe in their chance and choose to counter, they won't be as defensive-minded as the Swedish - which calls for a more cautious approach from Low, especially as the Koreans should be a little more dangerous on the counter. With Rudy likely out my guess is Khedira will return to the starting lineup and possibly Gomez starting in attack.Boateng being suspended means more defense as well as no other German defender nearly possesses his passing skills in the build up or ability to recover. Brandt should also earn way more playing time over Draxler or Muller after getting very close to scoring in both games despite not even playing 10 minutes.

Low should play Leon Goretzka alongwith Kroos in their midfield in the next game..

I think boating was doing his work (plan) not a mistakes, he support kroos and rudy behind the four in the box, and give long balls and that what explaind why neur attacked, to give more choices to rudeger if he under pressure of counterattack from sweden

Werner was very wide to on the left sometimes, i didn t know why, but generally this analysis reflect good the match.

I honestly think Low intended to use this formation because Germany really needed to win today, thát's why they put too many men forward to attack!

make a video about chiellini's defending analysis or how he plays

I think it was more like 1-3-5-1 than 2-2-5-1 in attack

Can’t Germany solved it By changing to a 4-1-4-1. Had 3 in the box, 2 full backs wide. 2 players sitting on the edge of the box ready to swap with any of the 3 in the box, make later runs or pick up 2nd balls then had a player sit in front back 2 to protect it and drop in.

It's unbelievably stupid to play with crosses when you have creative players. They have to play like Spain against teams such as Sweden. They have to to use their creative players and have only one CF.If they played without too many crosses and opened the defense through the center with short passes they wouldn't play so bad.And of course they need CDM like Can who are creative in attack and very reliable in defense and of course with good shoot because you need to shoot many times to win deep defense.Agree with your point of view

I think Germany needs to stop playing so high up and make use of the pitch area. Majority of play is 10m in front of penalty box. That doesn’t help Germany as there is no spaces between opposition defence and midfield.

If they play deeper, that opens up the half spaces where Ozil & Muller can be devastating and disrupt the defensive line.

That also allows more space for German players making it easier to play the ball and harder to defend against (expand the play when you have the ball, squeeze the play when you don’t).

Also allows for more space for forward to run in behind.

And it certainly helps to prevent counters.

Now this group is really unpredictable... I'd say Germany will go through to the round of 16, but I don't know wether they'll be 1st ahead of Sweden or 2nd behind Mexico...

How nobody realizes that germany had the most chances in the first 2 games of all teams. xD
Yeah they play risky, but they had bad luck also... 3 bar hits in the first 2 games for example. And lets not forget that Sweden had 3 chances in this game which 2 of them were presents from the Germans.

18:7 shots
60% won duels
75% ball possession
91% pass accuarcy

Those numbers stand for themselves.

Because the mid field motor and the DM Schweinsteiger had retired and Low hasn't found a replacement.

From the first minute Sweden has provided little evidence that they seriously want to attack. This is already shown by the fact that Germany played 152 successful passes in the first ten minutes, while Sweden managed a total of 10 passes. Against this background, Germany probably did not consider it particularly important to defend attacks that simply did not come. The 0: 1 was not a special merit of the Swedes, but a stupid pass from Kroos. And the game itself proved that the Germans are right. The game was always in an oblique plane towards the Swedish goal.

low cant continue to play in this system. he must replace rudy with a holding midfielder like goretzka or khedira that stays back to help the center backs and i dont think is necessary to put 4 men in the box so he should say to kroos to go upfront at the edge of the box and push one attacking midfielder like reus or draxler to stay with kroos at the edege of the box

Problem is their fullbacks doesn’t come back to defend they play as a winger and doesn’t quickly come down
