The elevator call button isn't telling the elevator to come up/down to pick you up, it's notifying the elevator which way you intend to GO once you get on, so that it can more efficiently decide who to pick up when from which floors as it goes up and down through the building.

For example if you're in the middle of the building and want to go farther up, but it's already making several stops to take people down to the bottom floor, it'll pass you by on its way down then come back to pick you up after all the "down" people have been taken care of (or direct another elevator in the elevator bank to go take you up while the down-dedicated elevator keeps doing its thing).

The elevator thing triggers me so much. Press down if you want to go down and up if you want to go up! The elevator is not a claw LOL

You actually mess the elevator up if you don't just press the button for the direction you want to go. They are programmed to only stop for you if the other people in the elevator are going your same direction. You waste everyone's time if you do it that backwards way.

The elevator knows where the button is. You tell where you are going so it only stops when it's going in that direction. This way, you don't fill the elevator unnecessarily and if there is more than one, the one going in that direction stops first

The leaf part of the strawberry is actually a bottom part of the berry, because when a flower is growing, the middle yellow part is starting to grow bigger and bigger eventually becoming heavy, so the whole thing is naturally "coming down" so we see the leaf part as a top part of the fruit 🍓

elevator thing - you should press button where are you are trying to get, like ALWAYS, you want to get up press up button and if you want to get down shoul press down button - if you press up because elevator was below then if somebody else was trying to get to the floor above you it will stop to pick you up which makes no sense...

You press the elevator button for which direction you are going because in large buildings or paces with multiple elevators, they open depending on which way they are already going so as to not inconvenience the others on the lift

what amuses me the most is there are lifts that won't open for downtrip if their up trip isn't complete. So when some smartass calls the lift to go down by pressing the up button and the lift goes past the floor leaving them so confused 😂
