It's the tournament I regret most that Nadal didn't win. He fought superhumanly in this tournament.

It wasn't even Fed's unforced errors or weak backhands, he was playing those shots to perfection but Nadal's defensive game was outta this world

The tournament that got me into tennis. I remember watching this, the Murray Djokovic semi, and of course the final and being amazed at the level of tennis being played. I became a Roger fan just because of his playstyle but Rafa Novak and Andy were also incredible. All this toxic discourse makes me sad (I’m guilty of it too lol) because at the end of the day, we got to witness some of the greatest tennis ever played in this generation.

One of the most underrated 4 set matches, Fed played very well here, forced Nadal to play out of his mind on the passing shots. Would have been a classic if it had gone to 5

AO 2012 is the best GS ever. I never see so many great matches in one tournament

The quality in this match was ridiculous. No higher level than Nadal vs Federer. And it’s so thrilling to watch.

Those passing shots are out of this world

What a draw that year’s AO was. Same with 2011.

Should post highlights of the 2011 ao semi final between Djokovic and Federer. That one is a match that isn’t spoken about much

I like the BIG3 games of this era the best.

At this time, Rafa's footwork had already dropped and Roger had lost the movement and the Dangerous Forehand that he had in his prime.
But both players should be technically better players than they were a few years ago.
Rafa's ball distribution in particular would have been much improved from a few years ago.

The BIG3's game was most attractive in this era, when they did not rely on their sturdy bodies and chose the right shots.

Sad how Roger was 0-3 against Rafa at the AO until 2017. He just couldn’t hang with Nadal earlier in his career.

Recuerdo esta época del tenis. Era prepararse algo de comer y sentarse a disfrutar de una final entre Roger y Rafa. Siempre apoyé a Rafa pero ver jugar a ambos se disfrutaba mucho

Federer played extremely well. I thought his level was higher against a very game Roddick, who is an all time great, in the semis. He brought a similar level in the final and had his chances.

Remember Novak played a 5:30 hr semi final with murray and then a 6 hour marathon with nadal in the final, Insane physicality and stamina.

The fact that it’s like 1.5x actual speed during the rallies is pretty distracting tbh

The camera is on a slight angle and it’s bugging me.😂

How Roger got owned by Rafa on AO 2009, 2012 and 2014 is beyond my mind, he should have won some of those matches based on his favorite surface, at least he didn’t fold on 2017 but he could have more GS winning those matches

Outside the French open, this was the best match Rafa ever played against Roger I think. Better level (not better match) than Wimbledon 08 or Oz 09.
