Automatically charging my smart blinds

I bought 3 of the new zigbee batery zemismart after looking your video few months ago. One of the few motors that fit on my 32mm tube. They work nicely and it is a shame they don't report the batery level to HA. I have to do something like in this video to charge them. Although, I bought another new model (ZM25RW01-30) that is wifi (no zigbee model far as I can tell), without batery and plug directly to 220v. It should arrive in a month (2 months shipping to Argentina). When we did our home few years back I left small boxes with 220v on top of the windows for the motors. The issue is that I cannot fit in there a USB charger, USB splitter and whatever is needed. Will see how it goes with that model before deciding how we will complete the rest of the house :)

Yup, do that with my tablet dashboard. Automatically charged when needed, 30-70% range.

Don't you get the battery state of the blinds in HA as well and could automate the charging when 20% is reached?

I’m pretty rubbish with electronics but doesn’t the voltage drop the more a battery is full? I noticed you’re using the local bytes plugs that measure this, so if you switch the plug on for a minute - you could have it proceed to charge if the voltage is above a set level and then off when it drops. This way you would avoid repeatedly recharging and wearing the battery.

Imagine if someone could invent some thing that stops charging batteries when they reach 80 % charge, like many EV chargers, as keeping the battery charge between 20 and 80 % makes them live longer.

I think - mutch better solution is eject battery`s from blinds when you have wiring from power source. :D i do this solution on thermostatic valves ;) from that time i never solved issue with batt :D

It's a shame that there aren't more wired-in blind options... Maybe a dummy battery that's actually a cable like some DSLRs have could work.
