UPDATE: Thanks to an extension of our demo period, we've pushed our second impressions video back to Monday, 12/23. Thanks for your understanding, folks!

See us unbox Jolla here:

Check out our previous hands-on with Jolla's Sailfish OS:

Read our prior interview with Jolla's Marc Dillon:

We unboxed Jolla yesterday and asked you for input on what we should check out next. By and large, you wanted our observations on the first Sailfish phone promptly - no matter what they were. Here, then, are our thoughts on Jolla after 24 hours' use ... along with a promise to bring you more Sailfish coverage around this time tomorrow!

My friend already has Jolla :) We live in Finland so it's really easy to get Jolla. I really like this phone! And by the way, why didn't you download the Amazon App Store?

System looks like meego on Nokia N9 its almost same concept. But instead of swiping from up down you swipe from left right.

Finally, an OS with vertical paging. Never thought I'd see the day

The minimalistic squared design is the best.

A new OS its always welcomed. If this OS works smoothly on old devices, maybe could have a chance.

Give it some time! I think this plattform has potential.

This will go right along with my N900(Maemo) and N9(Meego) tablets. Very exciting. I cannot wait to get a chance to mess around with the OS. Maybe I will just dual-boot my N9 with it;)

Awesome! I'll be watching to see how this market develops. I jump through the hoops necessary to make my Nexus 4 operate this way. 100 percent gesture controlled. No notification bars, no capacitive buttons. I love the idea of this UI

It looks beautiful. Makes me wonder what a mash up between WP metro (what ever its called) design and Jolla's gesture interface would be like, specially considering that both have a lot of vertical scrolling on their respective home screens.

jolla looks promising, the only problem i see is how long can it stay afloat to gain momentum and grow, or to gain enough attraction to be bought by a bigger company and be able to fully compete against the mayor brands, either way i wish there were more options like this one in the market...

even before they released this finalized unit like at CES 2013 this phone and sailfish OS blew me away at how different it is its true it does look like blackberry os but better its kind of hard to explain why so all i have to say is just that... its different and sometimes thats a good and this is definitely a good thing for sure sometimes the industry just needs that one thing to give it all a refresh and you can disagree with me but i think this is that thing that will give the industry a refresh for sure *Apple, samsung, LG, if i were you i would be taking notes right now!*

Thanks Michael, I had an N9 with Meego so this interests me as Nokia ditched that OS not long into my contract. CyanogenMod, Sailfish, Tizen, BB10, Windows should give Android/iOS plenty of competition in 2014.
