Aaju Peter (CM) is an Inuk clothing designer, lawyer, and activist. Peter advocates for Inuit rights to use seal products and to be involved in issues related to Arctic waters. She runs a home-based sealskin garment business, volunteers for a music society, and collects traditional law from elders. She was named a Member of the Order of Canada in 2011. A native of Greenland, Peter has resided in Iqaluit since 1981.
