I'm glad you did a right-click at 2:40. That really shows how amplified and blown out the light bleeds are, meaning in person, those light bleeds are barely noticeable. And yes, the camera does pick up the bleed and does not portray it as we see it. Thanks for the vid!~

I recently bought one of these from the February batch. With my lights off, playing a game like Alien Isolation, I notice it in the corners during dark parts. It is strongest in the bottom left. It doesn't really pull me out of the experience unless I'm looking out for it. It's one of those things you could be anal about, and think about replacing, but then you're just as lightly to get another unit with pixel problems, or overclocking problems etc.

I'm pretty happy with mine. Amazing screen really. I possibly have an audio issue when things are turned down.. it seems to distort or pulse slightly, but when you raise the volume gain it seems to go away. My only real criticism would be the menu buttons being inconsistent. Again, it's something you get you're head around after a while, but when you're learning you pull your hair out!

For gaming, I'd strongly recommend a powerful system for top end graphics. Even with a single GTX 980 Ti modern titles like Witcher 3 and GTA V require settings to be dropped down to get acceptable frame rates in the 40-60 range. Classic titles that support ultrawide are more forgiving.. There, a 970/980 would probably be enough for games older than 2 years.

I'd recommend this system to anyone with a beefy rig wanting a monitor that will stay with them into the pascal generation. When the Pascal XX80 ti is the released this monitor will shine. For the time being, Like 4k Monitors, I don't think the current gen of CPU's are good enough to handle ultra settings with a single card

Otherwise, go for it, it's the best monitor I've ever seen.

i bought one this week in a local store in Mexico and it has the same backlight as yours. Still a great monitor :)

100% agree! If i didn't see the BLB while watching content in 4:3 aspect ratio on a 16:9 screen. I wouldnt care at all! Thats what made me return the PG279q. That was last year though.

The worst thing is that when yo're buying some monitor, they won't tell you pros and cons about product yo're buying ! I got Viewsonic 32 inch LCD 2K monitor ( TN panel ), but I couldn't test it i the shop, and when I came home and start using it, I saw backlight bleeding in the corners of the screen . First I thought it's some product isue, some damage of the screen . Now I'm wondering is it better to go on reclamation and tu buy some FHD or 4K LED TV or to keep this monitor and just get my eyes used to it ?

I just recieved my PG348Q "Same Panel" and I have literally the exact same amount of BLB, I am coming from acer predators 1440p 165Hz TN Panels..So this is my first IPS monitor is this considered okay? as you stated it isnt apparent until the screen is super dark, my only gripe is we pay $1100+ for these and still have to deal with imperfections I just feel like at that price point there shouldnt be ANY faults lol but is what it is I guess...

Good Video. I was considering this monitor but was happy with 2560x1080p so was choosing between the z35 and xr3501. I went for the benq xr3501 and i am quite happy with it. But the z34 does look awesome!

Did you get a discount for doing this video?

All IPS panels are going to have a little bit of bleed in the corners - yours is more than fine.

I think yours looks more or less fine, I have seen much worse. I switched over to VA panels cause I am so done with playing the IPS lottery everytime I buy a new monitor or TV, I know the viewing angles are sometimes not that great but I prefer this anytime over these glowing and bleeding ips issues.

mine is very similar. shipped from newegg Canada, backlight bleed maybe a smidge more noticeable, other than that everything else has zero issues and I can clock to 100hz no problem. I'm feeling anal about the backlight bleed though but mostly because I am looking for it.

I can only see mine when it's a black screen and even then I have to focus on it, it's just a little in the top corners, doesn't bother me one bit

Yes it is an issue!! All manufacturers should avoid this specially led screen that use backlight VA panel and TN, i returned a samsung tv VA panel with same issue to besbuy, they recommended me change this for a new one....i do Other tv same model with the same issue even worst, this time i go for the LG IPS panel.
