Subdisciplines of Anatomy -
(01) Embryology = This is made up of two words – Embryo = Fetus and Logy (logos) = to study. So if we combine these 02 words we will have a meaningful word = embryology which means to study the life cycle of a new fetus starting from the fertilization of an oocyte to the complete eight weeks of development of a fetus so that it may take birth

(02) Developmental Anatomy = Meaning of development is growth and anatomy is related with structure so if we bring these 02 words together then we may have a complete word developmental anatomy, which is to study about change is size of the cell, tissue, organ and the body starting from the fertilization towards the resulting offspring.

(03) Histology = Histo- comes from Greek histós, meaning “tissue.” and Logy (logos) = to study so it is the science concerned with the study of tissue and organ in relation to their function.

(04) Radiographic Anatomy = The study of the anatomy of tissue or organ by visualizing them with the help of radio imaging techniques like – X rays

(05) Pathological Anatomy = Patho stands for pathogen = Microorganism that causes or can cause, disease. Pathological anatomy means the study of diseased tissue

Subdisciplines of Physiology -
(01) Endocrinology = Endocrine refers to endocrine glands which secrete different types of hormones for the proper functioning of the human body. Endocrinology is the branch of physiology and medicine that involve study related to endocrine glands and the hormone associated with them, including their pharmacological activities.

(02) Cardiovascular Physiology = Cardiovascular system is made of – (01) Cardio = heart (02) Vascular = Vessels. So cardiovascular physiology includes the study of the cardiovascular and its assigned function or a system like- the circulatory system including the heart- blood and blood vessels.

(03) Immunology = Immune system is our defensive system and to study the immune system including – its natural defence mechanism and its response is called immunology.

(04) Respiratory Physiology = Respiration means = Inhalation of oxygen and exhalation of carbon dioxide so respiratory physiology is the branch where we study the process or mechanism of respiration in the body

(05) Renal Physiology = Renal system stands for a kidney that filters the blood and eliminates waste as urine. Renal physiology is the branch of physiology that includes the study of the physiology of the kidney

(06) Pathophysiology = The study of the disordered physiological process associated with a disease of injury or organ
