man this is gonna be a good fight. I believe Lawler has some of the best hands/power in mma, he's always been one of my favorite fighters. I also like fellow canadian Rory Mcdonald too so it's hard to root for either guy.

but the winner will be clear at the end
lawler's speed and power vs rory's jab, TD and GnP.
lawler should be beating rory if we only take athleticism in account .
but rory has advantages in mindset, self belief, technique. if this fight didn't finish in the 1st conditioning is the most important factor.
best method to win for rory is TDs and GnP in the 1st especially.
best method for lawler is to utilize his kicks and avoid TDs.

Lawler's aggressiveness for the win but Rory's got this with those jabs and kicks to keep Lawler on the outside, and some wrestling if he needs to or wants to.

alot of people dont seem to like rory but the way he fights is so controlled, calm and tactfull (atleast imo), i hope he wins although robbie is a beast aswell

Thats why they use the saying : You're only as good as your last fight. Unfortunately thats just how it is but people always gonna have critics, it doesnt matter

Rory is going to try to use that jab and his foot work and play it safe. He could also take Robbie to the ground and submit him but I really don't see him doing damage from top position, if Robbie manages to reserve that and ends on top position Rory might get TKO. If Rory wins it might be via decision or submission. If Robbie wins it might be via KO/TKO. But lets not forget that Robbie did get KO/TKO by Nick Diaz so anything can happen. It's going to be a hell of a fight.

Even though Rory's last fight may have been boring to some, if you really know about fighting then you know what he did in the ring was brilliant. Lawler looked like a changed man in his last fight and he has the KO power. This fight will come down to endurance.

Totally forgot about this fight. This fight will be exciting with every shot Robbie throws. People want to see Rory with his back against the wall.

All he has to do is lose 10 lbs of muscle.Rory cuts from 200 to 170 that's a 30 lb cut.GSP cuts from 190 to 170 that a20 lb cut.If he loses 10 lbs he'll be making a 25 lb cut to LW.10 lbs of muscle is not hard to lose when you have as much as GSP has.He already hinted that he's switchign weight classes and he said he could make LW easier than MW

its not so much insecurity about his own striking... His own striking is excellent... He does so against a dangerous opponent (a KO artist). But he has said that he needs to find a balance of being exciting and smart against a dangerous opponent.

That's a valid point.Lawler hit's hard and pushes forward.I also think Rory will take it down but I don't think it's a bitch move.There's million's of dollars on the line in his next couple fights.If he ends up with the title and defends it he'll be making GSP money.It would be stupid of him to throw that away by risking getting knocked out
