octovalve still amazing to this day. it is a solution I would think of as a young engineer but the corporate bureaucracy and politics like Sandy always mentions, the genius executive is the one who always says NO. However, Elon/Tesla probably have the least of it.

Played with it a couple of months ago on a Model Y too, but after seeing your video guys there's one thing have to say... International System of units prevails!

It works similar to your fridge. A fridge takes the heat out but this one can change to also put heat inside with help of this great valve system. Teslas and fridges use electric motor for the compressor. Your car uses the engine to power the heat pump which requires a lot of energy and your ice car battery has not enough power for it.

Hey Munro and Co, do you know if the heat pump extracts heat from main cabin when AC is turned on but the battery needs heat? Essentially sucking the heat from cabin to heat battery? Rare occurance I know, but I have an idea

Wonder what type of refrigerant and type of delivery. Sending refrigerant to the battery? Sound dangerous and counter intuitive. I get keeping it cold, but with a super conductive metal near a battery designed to move a car hundreds of miles sounds dangerous. Especially with the new flammable refrigerants

More service videos please. How to disassemble. How to make tools to disassemble. Where to pry. Where to twist. How to. How to. How to. These vehicles will flood the market and few will know how to repair them. If it's extremely complicated to repair it's going to be expensive to repair. " That's why tesla has there own technicians " you say. Not if you don't pay them enough. Independent repair will see these vehicles.
