Baseus 100W GaN 3 Desktop Power Adapter Review and Test

In this video I am looking at the new Baseus GaN 3 Desktop Power Adapter. The model number is CCDK100US and also GaN3 Pro Desktop Fast Charger, TZCCGAN-L01. More model numbers must mean more better. This charger will do 100W - 20V-5A maximum in the PPS mode.

Just found your channel while originally looking for reviews on Anker 727.
Been using a Old Ravpower 65w 2 usb-c wall charger but lately I have been issues with it for lower wattage applications. With a trip around the corner and wanting to buy a more up to date charger with a power cord. I almost went ahead and purchased a Anker 727 Charging Station until I found your review.

I am thoroughly amazed how in-depth the reviews were on different power adapters & chargers. Unlike other reviewers which mostly sums up to "it works" "amazing" "look how fast it charges" while spending a large amount of time unboxing or talking about it but not actually talking about it. The reviews you make are top quality not only the content is digestible making it easier to understand for someone who is not an electrician its straight to the point. I appreciate the straight forwardness a lot. Saved a great deal of time.

Dodge a bullet on purchasing the Anker 727 Charging Station and a nice sum of money. Ended up ordering this one and not the Baseus power combo for the better idle power & performance per $.
The Power Factor Correction is definitely what I need for my Travel LAN PC & daily use. Efficiently power my portable monitor (been using portable power banks previously) not having to worry about it being overcharged and quickly charge additional items.

Because of this video, I bought the Baseus 100w and I’m very happy with my purchase.

Yooo no one is doing reviews like this on chargers/power adapters. Thank u! You have a nice niche here for YT bc ppl are spending more and more on their tech devices and want to buy quality peripherals. Keep going and your channel will for sure grow 👍 Side note: I've been using this adapter for a few months to sub the heavier Razer laptops' unit so I'm happy to see its freakin good. I saw they now have a 140w lil power house unit. Too bad none of my tech rn charges that high via usb-c, not yet 😝 Thanks again!

Honestly I was about to spend a lot more in an anker charger because I was frightened about frying my laptop with dubious brands I've never heard of, but then I found this video. Thanks a lot!!!

Pretty great looking unit; would be nice if it had a detachable AC cable so you could replace/swap with your own (it'd be easier to pack too). I never understood why cabled chargers were considered "desktop" while ones with an integrated plug are "travel". If anything, I want the cable *more* when traveling because that's where I'm likely to encounter outlets in awkward places, adjacent blocked ports, or loose plugs that won't support the weight of a full charger brick hanging off them.

I bought this adapter a year ago after watching your thorough review and it's been performing well with phones, tablets, laptops. One minus: it doesn't seem to like less sophisticated items like rechargeable flashlights: it continuously starts/stops charging these devices even with nothing else plugged in.

FYI, looks like there is a new version on Amazon which makes the extension cable optional.

Thanks for reviewing this.

I just wish it had a removable power cord, but that is a small gripe.

Bought this one for about 42 USD to charge my Lenovo laptop and other gadgets while on the move. Looks like made right choice.
About 9 years ago bought Anker PowerPort+ 5 USB-C charger - still going strong. 1 USB-C port is not enough for nowdays.
Was an Anker fanboy - wireless speakers, wireless earbuds, all chargers (car and home), powerbanks, cables only from Anker for all my family members. Anker never failed and and works fine.

Anker Prime Charger, 200W 6-Port GaN Charging Station is what I juat bought for home use. I plan on charging my cell phone my DJI drone battery hub that holds three batteries, a small EDC flashlight, the DJI remote and maybe one other small item. I did not notice the speed difference with this compared to just the regular Samsung wall charger when isolating and doing just the phone alone. I'm learning and new to this but isn't 200 W supposed to charge faster to my devices? I do notice that the USBC to USBC is the fastest charging versus USB a to c. Is this a good desktop charging station?

How is the leakage current for this one compared to the Apple 90W (bought in mid 2023)?
I‘m asking because a skin I have applied to my laptop leads to the leakage current not tingling, but actually hurting. This is why I usually prefer grounded adapters like my Apple one with the extension cord but the Baseus does check a lot of boxes for me.

Did you test that charger while drawing power from two inputs at once?
I had bad experience with the GAN2PRO 65W 3 ports model, where trying to charge 2 power consuming outputs (i.e. laptop+tablet or laptop+phone) resulted in charger refusing to charge any of the outputs. I assume it was related to the total consumption exceeding the maximum power given by the charger (when connecting less power hungry devices, like two phones, it worked fine), but I expect it to throttle the output down instead of not giving the power at all.
I've sent the device to the service and they told that it works as expected

I would consider this model, but if it works as the abovementioned one, then it disqualifies it for me.

What is the name of the adapter that changes the voltages?

It would be nice if you noted exactly where each adapter turns on PFC. I'm looking for a versatile power adapter that does decently at the in the 3-5W range. The 100W adapter looks like it could be interesting but there's no info between 0.9-12W range to see where exactly PFC turns on.
