This just happened to me. I been HURTING, bad. Single dad with 3 kids, i just can't seem to keep up. I love to talk to people, so when a random older guy came in, i started chatting him up. By the time our conversation finished, he offered me a job making 50$ an hour. I was making 21$ an hour, and i honestly couldn't believe it. It doesn't feel real, and i needed it so bad. It saved the holidays, and really brought my love of life back, because so much stress has been lifted. Im so greatful to him, for taking a chance on me, and im still awestruck.

Be aware. Look for opportunities. There is an old saying that luck happens when opportunity meets preparedness.

Thats not how luck or opportunity works.
Its more like if if told you: i will give you $50 for every certain item you see but i will only tell you what the item is at the end, so you have to tey to predict what that item might be.

This is true for anything. Whatever you go looking for, you’ll find it. If you’re looking for reasons that life isn’t fair, you’ll find them. If you’re looking for reasons to feel blessed in your life, you’ll find them.

that's not a theory and that's also not how luck and opportunities work. In her example it is a very specific situation and chain of actions. --> for every red car you see, you get 50$.That is not an opportunity but a task. Not knowing that this might be a reward at the end of the day, therefore you don't count red cars, does not mean you are missing opportunities, it means you're focusing on stuff with higher priorities.
What we consider "luck" is often disguised as something trivial. Like your boss asking you to do a boring project that no one else wanna do but you say yes and it turns out that throughout the project you meet the love of your life. You wouldn't even know what you've missed if you didn't take that project, therefore you didn't miss anything.

Luck is the random outcome from a random situation, if you have control over it then it ceases to be random thus stops being luck

This is so true❤ I just wish people didnt say things like this to people who actually have shit luck. We need compassion for our little buddies struggling out there. Sometimes their struggling makes them see the red as green or whatever. Or they see it and fuck it up because too much is going on. I hate when people say, no such thing as bad luck. No, there is. Maybe some people that say it dont have it but many people still do and who are you to judge? You dont even see their whole surface nvm the deeper layers. Stay away from toxic people but always show grace to everyone. ❤❤
