Yes, Locke! Thanks for representing an important philosopher in the empiricist strain of modern philosophy. His views on politics surely had a great impact on the liberal ideas we encourage today. :)

People are not born blank slates. Twin studies have disproven that 100 times over. you may as well say that the earth is flat.

Locke defended natural rights but he was all wrong on Christianity. He "was all over Sociianized'' as one put it, a Unitarian whose idea of Justification was unlike anything found in the Bible. His rejection of the need for prevenient grace [John 6;44-45] made it sway into the Restoration Movement led by the heterodox Alex. Campbell and from him to the Mormons. Jefferson revered Locke because of his views on natural rights and because he too was a Unitarian. Locke's idea that we have a right to private property was derived from Aristotle in opposition to Plato a Communist. Interestingly, William Bradford of the Plymouth Community pointed a finger of blame at Plato when their short lived experiment with Communism failed. The solution was property rights and a recovery of what Aristotle believed about property. Locke defended private property but the Christians at Plymouth were ahead of him in respect of that because they knew of the conflict between Plato and Aristotle. If you can't own a piece of private property then it must mean the government owns you; see for example Communists China.
