There's something I've been really curious about ever since I had a hot tub. I've struggled to balance the chemistry and keep the water clear early on but I've noticed whenever I go to hotels or resorts that have hot tubs, their water is always crystal clear. It's safe to say no one is showering before going in there and after a few drinks, there's probably more than water in there. What exactly are they doing to keep their's so clean with so much traffic in and out of it?

I don't really love this advice for one reason, it relies on the frequency by which you use the tub to determine how often you shock the tub. I've seen the same with chlorine. One tablespoon after each use. People hear that and they stick with that. This could lead to too much or too little. I know Brian said no more than two or three tablespoons per week, but then why tie it to your bathing frequency?

It's easier for me to simply put a tablespoon of chlorine in the tub every 2 days, and I shock on the weekend. This helps me maintain a consistent base level of both. If I need more, I can always add.
