Never in my life would I have thought to add "+e^x-e^x" in the numerator

man, that is a too good explanation I love the way he explained it very simply.
👌💯👏

How would we EVER know to do that? Teachers don't TEACH this stuff man. They love to throw these problems at us without properly preparing. Nearly all my class is failing because our teacher likes taking ridiculously hard problems from the homework and doesn't bother going over anything.

Multiply both numerator and denominator by e^x and substitute Z=e^x and then using partial fractions you get the result.

Is it possible to solve this integral without adding something? For example, by substituting 1+e^x with u in the beginning?

Just a question I have the same set of example as my teacher gave me, is it the same to your answer if the answer is -ln[1+e^-x] + c ?

Wait... integral of 1/x dx = ln(x) not ln(|x|) + C?

Can we multiply it by e^x/e^x?
If not why??

Why can't we just say the integral is = ln|e^x +1| + C?

Actually i do have same answer as yours but still its wrong acc. to book

Or you just multiply by 1, I mean, 1=e^x/e^x

Couldn’t you use trig substitution to answer this as well
