Stage 1 of the UAE Tour kicks off at the Pointe on Palm Jumeirah Island - an impressive entirely man made archipelago. The route is fairly flat, likely ending in a bunch kick at Silicon Oasis. Bonus seconds are on offer at the finish with the winner taking 10 seconds, second taking 8 and 3rd 4. There are 2 intermediate sprints along the 148km route at 46.3km and 111.6km - bonus seconds on offer here are 3 for the winner, with second and third place taking 2 and 1 points respectively.

Great finish by Pascal. Cavendish saw that from quite a distance back, knowing inside this is the level for 2020... Hope he gets wins though!
