Talk The Talk - Gerald Mead On Cindy Sherman

Показать описание
Talk The Talk is a series of lectures where artists are invited to speak about the work of other artists.
"To the world, Cindy Sherman is a universally celebrated photographer who is a seminal figure in the contemporary art world who made a career of making chameleonic “self portraits.” To us, she is all that, but we also know her as Cindy, the Buff State student who helped found Hallwalls and went on to became famous, really famous. She is our art community’s equivalent of hometown icons like Lucille Ball, Tim Russert and Jim Kelly. My talk, from the perspective of a curator and collector, will briefly survey numerous series of her work spanning five decades and draw attention to her photographs in public and private collections in the region."
