EF M to EF Lens Adapter EXPLAINED & DEMONSTRATED on the Canon M50

Canon M50 lens adapter/Canon M50 adapter.

I've just bought a cheap mount adapter for my new Canon M50 so that I can try out some different lenses on the camera and try, among other things, to achieve the much sought after bokeh effect. In this video, which is part of my Canon M50 Review series I share how I got on.

Canon currently has just seven lenses in the EF M range:

EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM
EF-M 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM
EF-M 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM
EF-M 18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM
EF-M 22mm f/2 STM
EF-M 28mm f/3.5 Macro IS STM
EF-M 55-200mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM

So investing in an EF-EOS mount adaptor such as the Canon EF M to EF adaptor or an alternative such as the Viltrox reviewed in this video opens up the Canon M range including the Canon M50 as demonstrated in this video, to a much wider range of lenses (200+) in the EF range.

This means that should you wish to you can achieve really high quality video footage and stills photography using the M50, an adaptor and a lens such as the EF 50mm F1.8 which produces the much sought after bokeh effect as demonstrated in this video.

Thanks for this. There is another reviewer (also English) on Youtube, who bought and compared three alternatives to the Canon adapter (he has two videos on YT about these adapters), and I think they are even cheaper than yours. I remember that one of them would not work properly - from Nookia, I think.

remember to multiply the f stop of lenses by 1.6 as well as the focal length if you are chasing bokeh

I suggest try buy meika the name of brand of that autofocus that becuz I have it. It okay with less noise better.

Well it's a good job your not shooting this in 4K or everyone would know your address off that package. Tip - cover address labels before showing them on screen :)
PS. I'm a Viltrox fan myself. They make good products.

how is the autofocus while using the non canon adaptor. I am thinking to have an alternate to my existing Canon DSLR with something light weight, , in this I will be able to use my lenses which I have bot over the years, ,,

Are you using a EF-M to EF adapter or instead a EF to EF-M one? I think a EF to EF-M adapter in order to use EF lenses (designed for a 44mm flange distance) on EF-M camera body (only 18-19mm flange distance). this is why such adapter it is just a spacer! Real EF-M TO EF adapter would need a corrector lens in order to bring the back focal plane from 18mm to 44mm. Unfortunately many people and shops are very NOT precise on this and are misleading people. I think you did exactly the same...

This is an EF to EFM not an EFM to EF.

One other good knock effect off the 4K crop ‘issue’, is that you can get a much longer focal length, at f/1.8 without having to buy a much more expensive lens.

Can I use sigma 30/1.4 lens with M50 using an EF M to EOS canon mount converter. I am not able to do it. So wanted to know if I have to buy some other adapter
