Sarah, I love these lyrics and your honesty. They speak deeply to me reminding me that my relationship with God must be based on my heart and mind being fully open and honest before Him, He knows me (Psalm 139). He knows my every thought. How can I hide behind my doubts?
In my journey, I come to find that sometimes when I find myself “filtering” my doubts and/or my fears; I find my wounds —and in the wounds a woundedness that weakens me. But here is where God allows me the opportunity to come to be aware of those wounds—of the necessity to name them—and expose them to Him; to take them out of the hands of the evil one who would continue to use them as a wedge of fear/shame between me and God; and instead to allow God’s penetrating Healing grace to heal me of all those painful wounds that I have kept hidden (filtered if you will) in the shadow of who I truly am before Him.

Sarah's words are so beautiful and inspiring. Am waiting at the airport gate going home from the National Eucharistic Congress in Indianapolis. Five days 60, 000 people with some of the biggest name speakers in the country, but my greatest inspiration and closeness to the Living God in the Eucharistic was Sarah's voice singing out for Jesus at Saturday evening revival during Eucharistic adoration. After that, it is difficult to still question, but doubt is the core of true faith.
