The branded thumbnails & playlists are a good idea. I see what Brian means about multiple ones of those catching eyes in search. Getting them to come up high on search to begin with, so they can be caught by those eyeballs, is another challenge.

I have started using hash tags, tags and better thumbnails. It's working for me as a small youtuber.My video was among the 1st videos (fitness niche) on YouTube search.it was pushed down the list after 3days may because i didn't have more views

Funny fact: By uploading more, you not only help your own channel. You help others in your niche, too. I have few videos and upload like, once in a lifetime, but I noticed a sudden, BIG upsurge in views during July and August. Now I understand why: During those months, similar channels emerged and started to upload like crazy. Thus, I got lots of views from suggested videos.

I think it's best to not worry about it. Work hard. But if you enjoy what you're doing, a few or a lot of people watching doesn't matter. The one's that watch should make you feel good. They are being entertained or educated or both. I like what I do so I will keep doing it until I don't. Being paid would be cool but I have a job.
