“The Tongass National Forest /ˈtɒŋɡəs/ in Southeast Alaska is the largest national forestin the United States at 17 million acres (69,000 km2). Most of its area is part of the temperate rain forest WWF ecoregion, itself part of the larger Pacific temperate rain forestWWF ecoregion, and is remote enough to be home to many species of endangered and rare flora and fauna. The Tongass, which is managed by the United States Forest Service, encompasses islands of the Alexander Archipelago, fjords and glaciers, and peaks of the Coast Mountains. An international borderwith Canada (British Columbia) runs along the crest of the Boundary Ranges of the Coast Mountains.[2] The forest is administered from Forest Service offices in Ketchikan. There are local ranger district offices located in Craig, Hoonah, Juneau, Ketchikan, Petersburg, Sitka, Thorne Bay, Wrangell, and Yakutat.”

How have I missed this wonderful video? I mapped the volcanoes of central Alaska in the mid 1960s. When I mapped this area I realized that this was a suture zone. The risks were thielitic basalts common in the oceanic environment. Along this zone of the Yukon-Tanana uplands. In this zone I found petrified wood, pillow basalts and beautiful columnar basalts. When I discussed this with my thesis committee they did not believe me. They told me that hey would not pass my thesis defense if I proposed such ideas. I had to finish and move on as I had a two year window before entering active duty in the US Army. After all there was a war going on. Please do a video of the central Alaska geology. This is an interesting area with a varied terrain and also the hidden history of a collision zone. This makes it a wonderful area of geologic wonders.

You say ancient men migrated to the american continent via bering strait from asia and even contend he defied periods of glaciation making an inhospitable climate and impossible journey even more challenging to this early man...you also hold to the theory of tectonic shift alongside the notion of world-wide glaciation convinced the world was once completely frozen over killing all life this including men incidentally...

Why would men choose the damp dingy depressing darkness of an cave thats ultimately only really fit for an bear for its unavoidable causation of ill health over the favourable habitat of an log cabin and an camp fire?...this question really needs an answer
