I expected that Abus X-Plus would be harder to pick compared to Abus Plus, but it was similar compared to regular disc detainer lock.
I did not gut x-plus so dont know for sure, but it seems that in x-plus:
- there is no butterfly discs
- first disc is always a zero cut (other lockporters has stated so), so it can be front tensioned easily
- has some kind of disc blocking system that prevents discs turning if a key is not fully inserted into the lock
- has only 6 pcs of code discs
- has a strong free wheeling disc (maybe for drilling protection) in front of the front zero cut disc.

Nice picking! Yeah these are muhc easier then the ABUS plus core. They are always front opening/tensioning in my experience and I have seen other pickers stating the same. So basically your assumptions are all correct 👍 One thing to add: the spacers are a bit thinner then in the ABUS Plus, so navigation is a bit trickier and requires a thin picking tip. The standard Sparrows picking tip (the DD pick that LPL and BB made...) works on ABUS Plus cores, while it will be too thick initially for the ABUS X-Plus core.
Nice video, I always enjoy your DD-picking skills!
