Thank You So Very Much to the band and to Mr. Neal Unger.  I am a 52 year old skate boarder, amateur racecar driver and former U.S. Army paratrooper.  Now, I am fighting cancer.  This video and the song itself, along with God and my support group are driving all darkness from me.  I must keep listening to it.  All Love, Brian

The video stars Neal Unger (61!), a skater who discovered the sport later on in life...a true example of someone who is 'Young & Unafraid'...the band couldnt decide for a better video to their amazing song.

I think The Moth & The Flame is the result of The Killers and M83 having a baby.

With the old guy and the baby in the skate park was such awesome contrast.

LYRICS

Think back on what you did
How you’d punk all the new kids
The new wave of exclusive
As if there's something new, kid
We're the patient performer
The kid in the corner
We were just tuning you out
We are young and unafraid
We are young and unafraid
Allow me to weigh in
On this conversation
Here's your invitation
To chew someone else's heel
Your concessions are useless
A filter to diffuse this
Now you have to excuse us
We are moving on
It’s the rats in the basement
Trying our patience
We are just tuning you out
We are young and unafraid
We are young and unafraid
Did you think we couldn't feel you there?
Did you think we couldn't feel you there?
Did you think we couldn't hear you there?
Did you think we couldn't hear you there?
We were just tuning you out
We were just tuning you out
We will keep tuning you out
We are young and unafraid
We are young and unafraid
We are young and unafraid
We are young and unafraid

When I was around 15 years old, I read an article in Thrasher Magazine about some 62 year old fellow still riding the SoCal parks and catching air. At the time, many thought only youth could skate well, and old skater adults could not.
Man, my eyes tear up as I see the pleasure of skating roll from one generation to the other.
Skateboarding is a great social sport.

I heard this on 13 Reasons Why then I was like "Hey, I know this song. I loved this song. I still love this song."

This was so inspiring. I am turning 39 this year, which still feels very much like 19 I have to admit, apart from all the little pains. I always envied those skaters, and I just understood that if I don't start skating now, I will never know what it feels like. I got a deck last week, and I've been cruising every day since. Watching this vid gave me the confidence to keep at it and for many years to come.

As someone who started skating 3 years ago at age 38, I freaking LOVE this video, and the song kicks ass, too.  Saw you open for Placebo in Chicago and have loved your stuff since.

The fact that this old guy has amazing reflexes, awesome skateboarding skills, and never gives up is crazy and awesome.

3:15 that is the purest form of most innocent childlike excitement and smile after achieving something that seemed hard. Man you can't spell younger without Unger.

this song is so underrated, it should get a lot more appreciation

Neal is truly an inspiration to me. He's what the skateboarding represented to me, when I started to skate back in '87. And seeing Neal skate I feel it still manages to represent some of the same values (to me).

I like the song too.
