The Utility of the Future study report presents a framework for proactive regulatory, policy, and market reforms designed to enable the efficient evolution of power systems over the next decade and beyond.

At this event, leading energy experts from MIT, IIT-Comillas, and other entities present key findings and recommendations resulting from the comprehensive research study, related to reforms in pricing of electricity services, regulation of distribution networks, and market design to respond to the evolving sector and achieve substantial cost savings for consumers and industry.

Speakers include Robert C. Armstrong, MITEI director and MIT professor; Ignacio Pérez-Arriaga, study principal investigator, MIT visiting professor, and IIT-Comillas professor; Raanan Miller, study executive director, and members of the research team of authors. The study team from MIT and IIT-Comillas combines a range of skills in quantitative economic and engineering modeling, with a deep understanding of the complex interactions in the electric power industry.
