I first read this book on my first trip out west in 1973? I lived in a cabin near Lake Mary, Flagstaff, AZ and it was my second Castaneda book. I was blending into my new surreal landscape, soon to jump into the abyss (of Oneness)

This is incredible and transformative, thanks for sharing. I was referred to this project several years ago by a healer from the middle east and this is truly remarkable.

This is one of Carlos Castaneda's most remarkable books.
We are working on a movie adaptation of this book and recently released a new episode. Our goal is to accurately convey the text of the book while creating an engaging animation. We would be very grateful if you would appreciate the quality of our work. The video is available on the channel from which this message was sent.

Assuming responsibility for one's actions. @ 1:58:00 This is terribly true, and age is not a factor in this realization.

Let me explain: at the tender age of 6, I decided that I wanted to learn how to paint. My father had a few cans of paint in the garage, and I took one, along with a paint brush. Happily, I went into the bathroom and began "painting" the walls of the bath tub a pale pink (actually, it was a roller). After a few fun rolls along the walls, I stopped, feeling I had done enough painting for the day.

My father came home, and when he saw the mess in the bathroom, got very upset. My older sister, concluding I was responsible, likely due to paint stains on my cloths, told my father who was responsible for the bathroom pink paint mess.

In response, my father gave me a light "whipping", and then felt he was "done". I sat on the couch, still stinging, but also very confused, thinking, "All he had to do was make me clean up the mess, and I would have done so! The whipping was meaningless".

And yet, even at that young age, I knew that my father was incapable of understanding this simple truth, because, in his eyes, I was just a foolish "child" with no sense yet. Why spank me, when the real need was to clean up the paint mess? I would have done this. I would have taken responsibility for that action; but he denied me that chance, that dignity of doing so.

Do not underestimate the wisdom of children. They know more than you realize. Don Juan was correct, in that Carlos should have either done the swim, or told his father he was not interested in the plan. Just faking it to "keep the peace" is a wasteful and deceptive, and it will likely backfire at some point.

If all this is not true; then it should be.

People who believe the news but think this is incredulous need their heads checked.

I LOVED this book !!!
it's still good, as an audio, flows-very-well. 💜✨💫💜 'Good-Psychologies' !!! i considered it part of my Philosophy Dept., TRAINING !!! 😂 Thanks. !!! it's just great, & exactly how-i-read-it !!! :) (... it was my 2nd Castenada, to his 'Intro to the Nagual' story, title of which i forgot, at the moment...(, but, even the cover of this book, made me really look-forward-to-it... :) FAB-ulously amazing 'reads, ' here, really. 🎉💜✨💫

Could it be that later in his life, Carlos specifically passed on erroneous information, which muddled the stories of his, and his students, veracity as an act of erasing personal history? Don Juan brought this lesson up early in their interactions, and stressed that it was an essential action in becoming a Sorcerer.

Perhaps casting doubt on his earliest works, was simply Carlos recapitulating the practice of one of Don Juan's earliest lessons.
