Senator Bernie Sanders in Cambridge to Discuss 'Our Revolution'

Senator Bernie Sanders came out of nowhere in 2016 to nearly upset Hillary Clinton’s bid for the Democratic party’s nomination for U.S. President. Along the campaign trail, he sowed seeds for political revolution. Now Sanders is on the stump again, reminding his supporters—and persuading new followers—to demand more from their politicians.

Harvard Book Store, The Boston Review, and MIT’s Department of Political Science host Senator Sanders at MIT for a talk about his new book, 'Our Revolution; A Future to Believe In'. The event is sold out, but you can watch it here in real time on March 31st at 5 p.m.

Questions for Senator Sanders will only be taken from the Kresge auditorium audience, but we still welcome your comments here.

1:01:12 - 1:07:17 bernie doesnt like being negative and blaming people so he kind answered the question without pointing at somebody. Im gonna try to explain it with the blaming.. we have seen this phenomenon that is happening in europe before. It happened in Nazi Germany during the rise of Hitler. After the WWI the people were struggling and the treaty of Versailles was really bad for the german people so they were in an anti-establishment populist mood and the were desperate. populism can go both ways, right or left. in Germany's case it went right, people followed hitler and blamed the minorities(jews, gays, disabled) who were below them for everything that happened. After the great depression in America's case it went left with FDR. in brief, when people are desperate and in a fucked up position they are more likely to blame people less powerful than them for their problems.
