Panasonic 2022 OLED TV Lineup: More Heatsink & More 42-inch OLEDs than LG & Sony!

Panasonic has unveiled its TV lineup for 2022, comprising five OLED ranges, namely the flagship Panasonic LZ2000, the step-down Panasonic LZ1500, the midrange LZ1000, as well as the entry-level LZ980 and LZ800 (UK-specific model).

Somewhat surprisingly, the Japanese brand launched more OLED models with heatsink (the Panasonic LZ2000, LZ1500 and LZ1000) and 42-inch versions (the Panasonic 42LZ980, 42LZ1500 & 42LZ800) than LG and Sony combined in 2022.

Could you compare the 42" models from both LG and Panasonic to see if there is any difference between the two panels at the same size.

I have the 55GZ950 and it's a fantastic panel still (minus the lack of retro game resolution support). I've been using Panasonic TVs for 20-years now and they have all been super impressive!

Still after more than one year I am very impressed with my 2020 Oled and newer models keep getting even much better. This is insane picture quality.

Really interested in the 42" size as PC monitor. If you could test these with LG would be much appreciated.

Nice video Vincent, as always. I’m looking for an oled tv/Monitor for a little nerdy room that I have, and I want it to use it as a monitor for the PC and for the consoles. Im mostly interested for the LG C2 42 inch and the Rog Swift Oled PG42UQ, but there isn’t a review for that model yet, so I have 2 questions: 1: Would you review that Rog Oled panel whenever is released? And secondly, having in mind all the tv/monitors of 42 inch that are gonna be released during this year, wich one would you recommend me? Thanks and keep it up.

Vincent, 120Hz VRR doesn't work on Panasonic TV's with the PS5. In the PS5 system menu the VRR range is shown as 48Hz-60Hz on my JZ980. Do you know about this issue?

I really don’t get why the heatsink wasn’t added to the 42”, it’s the one that benefits the most as people use it as a monitor

Panasonic managed to reach over 1000 nits in HDR with the standard LG OLED panel. I wonder what they can do with the EX panel.

Wonder why manufacturers refuse to release 42–48" models with heatsink. Wouldn't that help counteract their higher pixel density and enable either brightness booster or at least faster retention clearing and longer lifespan (especially for monitor use)?

Does the LZ1500e have the same picture qualities that the LZ200e ...because I use my own audio system?

Looking forward to the reviews on the 2000. I have been told by my local dealer that the sets should be in their store by mid July. Shame the 1500 didn't come at a 77 screen size.
