I was a DJ in the 70s and when I put this vinyl on the turntable the floor was packed, that’s how you new how popular a singer was. R.I.p Alvin thanks for the music.

My band had the great privilege to open a gig in Largs, Ayrshire for Alvin some years ago.. He was the most organised and professional Musician and Singer I've witnessed. Also a warm and kind hearted guy. Every recollection I have of that gig is great. Above all his performance - and that of his band - was just terrific. Sadly missed.

My Coo Ca Choo- Alvin Stardust
This was a massive N0.1 Hit in 1974 in Australia. It oozes cool smoothness in this love song that describes the things he loves about a girl. The opening guitar riff is one of the best ever and is still one of my best memories of childhood with my ear glued to Sydney's 2SM. 1270 AM.
The record Producer and Engineer should be highly commended for this tune.
The sale of black gloves increased a million % in 1974. LOL!!!

One of my mates worked for Alvin in his house, shortly before he died. He said he was a very nice guy. Down to earth. Sad hes gone.

In the 70s I was leaving a very late night kebab shop in Crouch End, London. Who was outside on the kerb changing a tyre on his car in stage gear? Alvin Stardust! A very down to earth geezer who had just done a gig.

Alvin Stardust has now joined MUDs Les Gray, T-Rex Marc Bolan, The Sweet's Brian Connolly & Mick Tucker, The Glitter Band's Gerry Shepherd and many more in Glam Rock Heaven. Without these great singers, brilliant showmen and entertainer the world will be a much duller place. R.I.P. I love the musik from the 70´s!
