Russia has extended military drills near Ukraine's northern borders sparking fears an invasion could be more likely.

As tensions heightened, diplomatic activity to avert war in Europe continued, with Russian President Vladimir Putin and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron holding a two-hour phone call.

US is trying to keep and increase the tension so as they can gain benefit from this incident.
Benefits include:
-selling more weapons to Eastern Europe countries
-selling LNG to Europe to replace Russia;
-By trading LNG/weapons, increase the USD transaction such that USD is strengthen in the finance sector;
-increase controlling and influencing power in those area;
Russia and Ukraine are both losers.

Remember year of 1938 and how Hitler grabbed Sudetenland and how it lead to WW2.
When Adolf Hitler came to power, he wanted to unite all Germans into one nation. In September 1938 he turned his attention to the three million Germans living in part of Czechoslovakia called the Sudetenland. Sudeten Germans began protests and provoked violence from the Czech police. Hitler claimed that 300 Sudeten Germans had been killed. This was not actually the case, but Hitler used it as an excuse to place German troops along the Czech border.
The rest is history.
