You should sell a merch item for us YouTube creator collectors, I would like something with your signature on it that relates to the content you make. Even something cheap like a plain mouse mat anything :) I have something from all the creators who's content I watch regularly. Would be cool if you did a GPU backplate, a keyboard or something swanky but I would settle for a mouse mat.

Linus is doing a £60 screwdriver lol literally one screwdriver. But I will buy it! Come on man, you need to have a doohicky or a gadget in this collection! Isn't complete with no Tech Notice.

I’ve been slowly getting parts since November and following your “Workstation for creators 2021” build. Last few items coming soon as I can afford them. I have the OS drive, cache drive and both 3.5 redundant drives left to buy, 2tb 980 pro/Seagate 1tb Sata Cache, 2 - 6 tb Seagate Ironwolf (I have my project drive already - 2tb 970 Evo)

Lian Li o11d Evo
Gigabyte Vision D-P
Ryzen 9 5900x
Nvidia 3080 ti FE
Castle Deepcool 360 AIO

I’ve got everything 1 part at a time on sale or new at MSRP or below.

Workflow is database management and video content creation / editing for work.

You’ve been a big help every step of the way. Thank you so much.

While watching this, I was thinking it would have been great if the video didn't end at all, I could watch this series of videos and build videos all day long. Great content, keep it coming.

now that I've spent thousands building a couple of systems about 8 weeks ago, prices are in free-fall. Typical. But my pain is your gain! Go for it.

Building a 12600k PC now, will wait for the GPU though. Thank you for all the help. Your channel has been my go-to for everything that I wanted to know since this is my first PC build. ❤️❤️❤️ Love from India!

Thanks for your insight. Really appreciate. As you asked the softwares that I use require faster ram and not more capacity, so definitely i will go for DDR5. I’ll share some pics of my build to you once I’m done with it. Thanks again.

Greetings brother.
Great videos as always, thank you, I have a question.
Should I wait:
I have the Intel i7 4th Gen, very old computer and in stages of dying actually.
Would like to wait for the 13th gen of intel, and also the next Gen of graphics cards, I would want an AMD now.
Also the next PCIe5 Gen5 NVMe SSD's.
I use my computer mostly for studio recording with VST and Guitars, like Cubase and such,
While also using Photoshop, Illustrator, Autodesk Fusion 360 and Solidworks 2021.
Do you recommend waiting for these technologies?

the best upgrade for the guy trading stocks all day is a faster internet connection or moving closer to an exchange!

For a finite element analysis FEA you need more memory channels than just 2 or four half width. So threadripper is more ideal

There are z690 motherboards that do support DDR4, the ASUS Z690-A for example

Link for Asus does not get to the one you described. Will you let me know when yo review it.
I am thinking of getting it instead of a PC. I enjoy watching your videos and have learned a little. You did say it is 4k?
Thanks,
Gordon

Asus ROG Strix B660-G Gaming WiFi - $ 240
2x16GB Corsair DDR5 4800 - $ 290
Crucial P5 nvme 4.0 SSD 1TB - $ 130
Corsair RM 750x PSU - $ 42 (on sale)
Thermaltake Toughair 510 CPU cooler (180w tdp) - $ 40
CPU : i5 12600K - $ 250
or
CPU : i5 12400 - $ 160
Cooler Master MasterBox Q300L mATX case - $ 70

GPU : - ASUS Tuf Gaming RTX 3060 Ti - $ 550

- ASUS ROG Strix RTX 3060 Ti - $ 600 (just because of the build quality, this is completely unnecessary though)

If you go with the i5 12400, which would be a very good option for a gaming system, you can install BIOS v. 1003 if I’m correct & look up how to BCLK overclock the CPU. The performance is insane + still stable.

Maybe throw in another 2 x 140mm intake fans at the front & you’re good to go.

i5 12400 setup should cost you around $1500-$1600 for a complete system. Depending on what GPU you decide to get.

i5 12600K system should cost you around $1600-1700.

As for the GPU, you could also keep the $ 550-600 for now & hold out till the next generation of GPU’s are released.

I personally run this system with a 12600 non K, quite significantly overclocked, with a BCLK multiplier of x114 & increased cache ratio . (This results in more than 5 GHz per CPU core) But you can also set a much less aggressive OC for these non K cpu’s, that performs almost the same, but puts less stress on the hardware.

I’ve been using this system for several months now, with an RTX 3050, because that’s all I need & in this price range, the CPU performance you get out of it + 32gb DDR5, small form factor build but without some of the negatives that ITX builds sometimes have, I really would 100% recommend a system with the above mentioned components

+ if you’re European, check out Chieftec cases, cheap as dirt, solid as can be.

Guess am too late to ask for a recommendation, however if anyone can help in the chat section-immensely grateful for your thoughts.
I am planning on setting up a home studio focused on video capture and editing (for a series of content and knowledge sharing for educational video content); I am hiring a person to do all the recording and editing. (Have no idea how to do)

When it comes to the PC build, have some questions-
Current set up-
1. Currently, have an Asus Laptop Tuf series running 1690ti ryzen 9 with 64gb ram 2x 2 TB NVMe, 1 TB 2.5" ssd + an external monitor
2. A flow x-13 with xgup (32 gigs of ram, 1tb storage and a xgpu with 3080)

Questions-
1. What kind of Mic's or additional interface would be required for live video and audio capture.
2. Should I go for a dedicated sound card?
Thinking Planning a building a dedicated PC -
a. Currently thinking of an i9 processor with 128 GB DDR 4
b. 3080 or 3080 ti Graphics card with 3 fans?
c. Lots of fans and 360/420 aio
d. few m.2 drives (have a few 2 tb nvme drives to cover) and a few exos segate drives for additional storage

Should I wait for Ryzen 7 and 4000 series graphics card?
The cost of DDR5 memory in my country is 2.5 times that off DDR4 memory + 32 gb single sticks are insanely expensive; and i am bent of getting 128gb memory in the system.
So DDR 4 Vs 5 is there much difference- future-proof for 4 years at least.

Have a dream of wanting to play some VR stuff- don't know where to start. Don't usually play games. want something to run / be able to run some vr hardware.

Appreciate any help and thanks in advance. Cheers !!!

When the new NVidia GPU comes out (4090??), is it expected to be compatible with the Z690 motherboard? Thanks!
