Good old tinder. Nothing like matching only to arrive at a set up for kidnapping or mugging. Matched with what I thought was a regular gal, only she never arrived at our date. Thought I was ghosted, then as I left, this guy asked if I was looking for Rachel (the girl I matched with). I told him yeah but thought this was weird. He said he was her roommate and said she wasn’t feeling well but still wanted to meet me so she was in his car.
I wasn’t dumb enough to fall for that so I said I’m good and started walking back towards my car.

But the dude followed me and when we got to the parking lot, he tried to grab me, saying I better give him everything I have or else. So I “complied” and pulled out my pocket knife and slashed him in the arm. I guess he wasn’t armed himself because instead of trying to fight me more he instead just immediately took off running.

That’s why you should always carry a knife or something in your pocket in case it’s some psycho you unknowingly matched with.

I had a creepy experience with a guy. We went on a few dates, and I decided he was not for me. So I stopped seeing him. But I noticed he would show up at bars and other places I hung out at. I joked he was my stalker guy at that time, but I really didn't take it seriously. Life went on, I stopped going out on the town, got married and moved away. I didn't see or hear from him for 30 or so years, and had totally forgotten about him. When a close relative of mine passed away, my family and I were hosting a visitation the night before the funeral. A few minutes before it was to end, and there was only a small handful of us left, he came walking in. He walked straight up to me, offered his sympathy, and then left. I was totally creeped out. I never introduced him to my family. He isn't friends with any of my friends. And we only went on a few dates, 3, maybe 4. It made me think back about him showing up to places I was hanging out. I don't think he's dangerous, but it's still freaks me out.

One of my smoking buddies had a co-worker that became a creepy stalker. She said they worked together for over a year. One day she was talking about needing to move outa her apartment, but was having a hard time finding a new place. The guy offered her to stay at his place for cheap, since he had an extra room. She hesitated at first, but figured shes known the guy for a year and he seemed fine. So she moved in with him. At first everything was fine. After like two months or so. The guy was really pushing her to get with him. Eventually she did and hooked up with him a couple of times. After that though, she noticed him get really possessive and jealous. He'd start getting angry with her and question everything she was doing and who she was with anytime she wasnt at the house. She'd come by about once a week and i'd smoke her out. Her phone would be blowing up the whole time she was there. One of these times while she was over. She finally answered her phone. Told him she was at her parent's house and she'd be home in an hour. Maybe 20 minutes later. Her cousin calls her saying that the guy showed up there looking for her. Shes weirded out knowing that the guy was driving around looking for her. She ends up leaving and going to her parent's. As shes pulling up. She notices a car that looks like his, parked a few houses down. This freaks her out more. She remembers taking him to her cousin's house, to pick up some of her stuff when she first moved in with him. She was sure she never told him where her parents lived though. When she finally goes home. They get into this big argument. She ends up locking herself in her room to get away from him for the night. After an hour of him begging her to open the door. He ends up kicking it open. She threatens to call police, so the guy finally left her alone. She took the next day off work to pack all her stuff. She moved out by the time he got home. After that she'd try ignoring him at work, even asked to be moved to a different shift. The guy would still try talking to her though. He'd wait in parking lot for her to show up. So she ended up quitting that job. He would also show up or drive by places he knew she'd be at. She moved into her new place. Not even a week later. She was sure she saw his car parked across the street from her building. He'd even drive by my place a bunch of times. The neighborhood i lived in. If you didnt live there. There was no reason to drive down that road. Yet there he'd be driving up and down the road over and over again. One night when she came over. We ordered some food, mixed a few drinks, and smoked a bit. We watched a show until it got real late. Told her she could stay if she wanted. She fell asleep on the couch. Middle of the night my car alarm goes off. She comes running in my room to wake me up. I go out to check it out and notice all my tires and all of her tires are deflated. I call the police and check my cameras. The video for the camera over the driveway shows it getting pushed up so its pointed away. The sensor on my flood lights was also pushed up all the way. Luckily the camera on my porch was able to record him as he was letting the air out of our tires. The police went around to my neighbors asking for door cam videos. Sure enough one of my neighbor's cam recorded where he parked his car. Got out and ran towards my house. About 30 minutes later. Here he comes running back. The guy got arrested the next day. Im not 100% sure if he got an actual "stalking" charge. I know he got trespassing and destruction of property charges, because he was ordered to pay restitution. My friend was able to get a protective order against him though. The day after that night. I picked her up from her place to stay over at my place again. As soon as we got there. She cracked open a bottle of tequila she brought over. Took a big drink, so i did too. Without saying anything she pulled me to the bedroom and got undressed. After we finished. She said she was so stressed from the night before. She really needed that. As far as shes told me. She says that he's never bothered her again. She ended up moving about 2 hours away. So i dont see her as often. Glad she doesnt have to deal with that creep anymore.
