Dreadnought Junior
Fashioned for player comfort, clear powerful tone and easy action, the Dreadnought Junior is reduced to approximately 15/16” of the full Martin 14-fret Dreadnought dimension (14 ¼” width at the lower bout) with an expressive 24” scale length. A solid Sitka spruce top features scalloped ¼” high performance X-bracing with a single asymmetrical tone bar. The back and sides are bookmatched from sapele, and Richlite, an ebony alternative with similar hardness and appearance, is chosen for the fingerboard and bridge. The Dreadnought Junior (aka “D Jr”) comes factory-equipped with Fishman’s Sonitone sound reinforcement system and includes a nylon gig bag.

You not only give the facts but the feel, touch, sound and even sometimes the smell of the instrument. As a senior player a smaller guitar is important as dexterity and finger stretching becomes more difficult as we age yet, I have been reluctant to purchase the GS mini or the baby or even BBT guitars because of the boxy sound. As a left handed player I often purchase online because you seldom see a left hand guitar in the local shops to try in person. We south paws rely heavily on reviews like yours before we make a purchase. And, you're the best online reviewer of them all. I just purchased a Dreadnought Jr today because you seemed so very impressed with it and gave varied extensive listening examples.

After watching all your videos on the Martin d jr 1 and 2 I decided to get the 1 :) I just love that crisper sound it gives over the jazzy muddy sound the 2 gives. Thanks for doing these awesome videos

As so many others said - lovely playing.
I have this Martin Junior and it truly is a gorgeous instrument - all solid woods as well at such a great price.
Can I ask if you were playing it with the Martin strings that it comes with? I wasn't too keen on them but your sound is brighter.
Very clear views of your left hand as well for those who wants to try the same licks and chord sequences. Great demo. Many thanks.

Hi Jarvis, I didnt nead the mikrofon so I switch too bone nut and pinns and the guitar become amazing!

Nice Martin tone on a relatively inexpensive guitar. "Song for Clarice" sounds beautiful even on the 15th fret. It shows Martin is doing great workmanship, even on their lower-level models. Great review, Jarvis!
