Actually, a friend of mine discovered another way to track the crafting recipes. If you turn on "Show Advanced Crafting Information" in settings, then it shows if you've crafted something by the amount crafted. This may be common knowledge, but it blew my mind, so maybe this'll help someone else, too

Star fruit is a valid alternative to ancient fruit, at least if you turn either into wine after harvesting and need the money relatively fast.
Star fruit will will earn you 400 gold (including the seed) but once your ancient fruit have started growing fruit it will give you twice the yield.
Now, with some hyper speed-gro that takes the edge of that and earns you about the same if you have the profession giving you 10% faster harvest (netting you 43% faster growth and you not having to wait for the long first growth cycle).

It is far more work heavy in the long run but getting enough ancient seed is also very hard work and it takes a long while before you actually get profit since you have to spend a long time making seed while you just buy star fruit seeds at Sandy's.

I am not saying either is better, just that they are both valid alternatives.

If you set up a Fairy dust manufacturing process to speed age your wine, Starfruit is really your only valid alternative though (either buying it for the blue sap from the racoon wife or a diamond and fairy rose production line and make it yourself. It don't recommend doing it, it is a pain to set up but it does earn you a lot of money.

Also the thing I was sleeping on for so long is a parrot egg, I have 4 level egg and it gives me 30-45k per day spent in the hard mode skull cavern just for killing monsters.

Honestly using finer island as an ancient fruit wine extension and/or to grow to help complete the recipes isn’t a bad idea 🤔 thank you for this 👍 currently working towards perfection now. Still waiting for access to the danger mines 💀
