Project Farm tested 10 batteries and the Everstart Platinum came out on top.

They are excellent batteries made by Johnson control

No such thing as a Walmart battery. They are made by real battery companies, on a bid and contract basis. One that is sold in Texas may be made by a different vendor than one sold in Vermont, since lead is heavy and shipping it cross country is expensive.

I put 3 H6 warranty batteries in my 2018 Silverado.1 per year. They just kept failing. After warranty ran out I paid for a Everstart Platinum AGM H7(It was only $20 more than the regular battery) and have not had another problem since.

I have never heard anyone say Walmart batteries are not good. But a good demonstration.

I'm not sure what the resting voltage should be for AGM, it's 12.5V for wet lead-acid batteries. Many new wet-acid batteries measure 12.6V
If resting voltage is less than 12.5V, it's either near end of life or discharged (wet-acid type). I recharge them then allow to rest at least 24hr if possible, then recheck voltage.

same battery in my Silverado and i don't drive it much either...it wasn't starting the truck at 2 years but i set it up on my charger in repair mode and it has higher CCA than when it was new.

I had the cheapest lead acid ever start in my Honda Civic SI since 4/2020, had to jump it twice because my kid left a dome light on when it was freezing here in North Texas, it was like $100-$120 battery, a group 51R, it's tiny, it's a 1-2 yr battery, I'm impressed.

Got the platinum AGM from Walmart and couldn’t be happier. They sell a lot of batteries so they don’t sit long

I’m more interested in the GTO than the battery! I have a 93 Silverado that I don’t drive often, I keep a battery tender on it.

Any vehicle that sits for extended periods of time really should have a good trickle charger on the battery at all times while it's sitting battery tenders are pretty good that or C-Tek chargers are really good

It doesn't matter where something is manufactured or by whi. As long as it's manufactured to the contracting agents specifications. Just because 2 batteries are made in the same factory by the same company doesn't mean anything.

I’ve had mine 6 years now and she still keeps cranking!

Walmart batteries are made by the same company that makes InterState batteries. Under tests those batteries work as good or better than other batteries

I’ve had 2 agm’s from O’Reillys. Superstar platinum they were like 240 bucks ..They both only lasted a year. They won’t hold a charge anymore. I do live in Michigan where the winters are brutal. I’ve also had multiple Optimus yellow tops, blue tops, red tops for multiple cars. Those seem to only last about four years after the four year mark, they won’t hold the charge.

Make sure you get a fresh battery. Walmart is known for not rotating stock. I've seen batteries that sat for more than 2 years on their shelves.
