Intel Arc 2023 Revisit & Benchmarks: A770 & A750 GPU Updated Tests

We're revisiting the Intel Arc GPUs for the first time since they launched. Intel has been releasing slow and steady driver updates for a while now, but with the latest (4091) patching Dx9 performance issues in addition to prior patches for frametime consistency across all APIs (including Dx11 and Dx12), we thought now was a good time to benchmark the A770 and A750 again. These updated results take into account the most recent driver revision. As this is a revisit, our primary goal is to refresh our numbers and data as we continue to monitor Intel's Arc GPU driver advancements that aim to solve underlying issues with Intel's new GPUs. The company has been making some huge progress in some areas lately, and our frametime plots for Rainbow Six Siege and CSGO (in particular) show that. For those of you wondering if Intel Arc is any good now, this will help answer that!

One other note too, not in the video: We tried Arc in an editing system for Adobe Premiere, but unfortunately, acceleration is not working properly right now. Intel is aware & working with Adobe on it.

Intel are really on a steep learning curve but doing well, physically produced a card, brought it to market, working on driver compatibility. Keep going Intel you’ll get there!

The performance gain with the updated drivers is insane. I really hope Intel can be a legitimately viable third option in the GPU market soon, we've pretty much only had NVIDIA and AMD for like a decade (really more like two decades)

Crazy impressive to see a 120% uplift from driver optimisation. It was clearly a mess before, but I'm becoming more and more impressed with Intels work in the GPU space.

Good review and nice to see progress from Intel. My only concern is with Intel bleeding money and the GPU division being reduced. I hope they don't exit the consumer market just when they start making driver progress.

I bought an open box A770 from Micro Center for $290 and can't be happier. Love the performance and the gains I have seen in just the month or so I have had it.

I think every pc enthusiast is rooting for Intel to come through and deliver on these. And so far they are showing promising improvement. Hopefully we can see a high end card aimed to combat even a 3090 in the next year. Doubtful. Very doubtful but would be cool to see.

Crazy to think that after a bad launch, that Arc would be fighting even near the same level as Team Red and Team Green. Huge respect to the Intel engineers who brought the product so far in so short a time. More competition is good! Imagine that an all team Blue gaming PC is actually a value proposition in 2023!

I was hoping this would happen. Arc GPUs are the only "current gen" cards in their price class at the moment, so I'm really rooting for Intel to keep AMD and Nvidia honest with their pricing. While I'm not looking for a GPU upgrade at the moment, I can definitely see myself considering an Arc GPU in a generation or two if Intel is able to continue driver improvements and produce cards that are competitive with 70 and 80 series cards.

Happy that you are doing another review months after the GPU is out. This "Free PR" will definitely help boost Intel sales with the price drop. Gives some confidence to the consumer that it wasn't just a One-off until they release their higher end card and that they are somewhat committed to make this generation work.
