I am extremely proud to announce I am now a published author and my first instructional guitar book 'Beyond Pentatonic Blues Guitar' is now available for purchase WORLDWIDE.

Expand Your Blues Soloing By Going Beyond Pentatonic!

Beyond Pentatonic Blues Guitar is the pathway to discovering authentic blues sounds beyond the basic blues scale!

You’ll learn the language, licks and concepts that your favourite blues guitarists use to add sophistication and flair to their solos.

Aimed at the intermediate blues guitarist, this book gives you the tools to escape the pentatonic purgatory that so many blues guitar students get stuck in.

Teaching you the melodic and harmonic ideas utilised by the Pros so that you too can create authentic blues guitar solos.

You’ll Learn How To…

✅ Outline and target blues chord changes
✅ Phrase with an authentic blues time-feel
✅ Control tension and release musically and tastefully utilise triads, arpeggios and scales beyond the pentatonic
✅ Chromatically Colour your lines like Stevie Ray Vaughan and use diminished scales like Robben Ford
✅ Plus lots, lots More!

Featuring an audio and video demonstration of every example, you’ll be able to see and hear exactly how the concepts, licks and solos are played.

Bridging the gap between the tabs and the music itself, Ross demonstrates all the material, allowing you to go beyond the notes and study the technique and articulation.

This Book Includes…
✅ Detailed explanations and examples of sophisticated blues soloing concepts.
✅ Licks, solo studies and practice etudes for you to learn and internalise
✅ Backing tracks in all 12 keys, at three different tempos, featuring different band arrangements

I feel almost guilty feeding off this free lesson. Thank you, my man, this is a) a very very valuable lesson and b) ridiculous for being free. Guilty I might feel, but I will take. Quite seriously this is a great lesson, and your guitar talent is only overshadowed by your generosity. Thank you.

This is how you promote a course. This was a genuinely great lesson, well constructed, no rambling, useful overlays, and full of legitimately useful information. I'll be grabbing the book because of this.
EDIT: I purchased the book, amazing content for the price.

I'm ~25 minutes in and, having played for ~10+ years, infrequently; this makes a whole lot of sense to my ears - One of the best tutorials i've come across.

The 12 bar blues progression is perfection. A great inventor, whose name escapes me at the moment, said simplicity is the source of genius. The trick is to get from point to point without appearing to be stumbling blindly down the path. Love your lessons and need them desperately. I'm sick to death of taking 3 lefts to go right. Think about that statement for a few minutes, 3 lefts equals going right. Teach on my brother. From an old wannabe guitar player.

I’m only 17 minutes into this video, but I can already tell that this is the lesson I needed so badly to study. I got pretty good at playing guitar through my 20’s and into my 30’s Unfortunately, I lost most of my skills when I became a father( no time to jam) but I’m recently trying to get back into guitar playing.

There's plenty of great guitarists on YouTube, but very few great teachers. You are both! Will check out your other resources 👍

This is unreal! I just watched this through and it's pure gold. There are weeks of stuff in this video alone to work through. Thanks so much for taking the time to make it and to be so thorough yet clear in your explanations. I'll be ordering a copy of your book in support of your good self.

I’ve been playing for over 30 years and this would be one of the best lessons I have come across.
The book is great too, if you got a lot from this lesson I highly recommend the book to take your learning even further.

Great work Ross!

His new book is excellent. Highly recommended. Shows me how little I have picked up in 40 years.

Is this the best instructional video on blues guitar ever?! Why wasn't I told about this years ago? Everything explained so clearly and logically. Well done lad.

Hi Ross.. I've been playing blues among others since so long, but just going through this lesson for only half an hour I already feel I'm playing real deep and richer blues like never before! Thank you solo much.

You just taught in an hour, what it taught ne over 20 years to learn. I hope people understand how good of a lesson this is. For me, over the years I learned the pentatonic in all positions and then as I played over tracks, I found all the filler notes to add in. Never knew much music theory just knew that those extra notes sounded good so they started becoming a regular part of my impression.

I'm 55 years old South Korean. This is the best free blues guitar lesson I've ever seen in my life. So, I bought the book and online lesson. Your book is really what I want and fantastic. From now on you are my teacher. Thank you for your great job. ^^

Hey man! I want to thank you for this fantastic lesson. When i was learning the blues, long before the internet, I had only records and a phonograph and endless needle-drops to learn from. If I'd had access to great teachers such as yourself, how much faster and better I would have developed!!! Thank you for this, and I'm hoping your book is even more helpful, because I'm going to go grab it right now. Cheers!

Lifelong guitarist who plateaued (think that’s how you spell it!) about 35 years ago, kids/work etc. Now retired and 64. What a great video and an absolute game changer. Ross you’re a tremendous communicator and teacher and I love the feeling of actually learning and progressing. You need to do a video on how to avoid tendonitis due to obsessive practice now!
Definitely getting your book. Brilliant presentation.
