Interesting. I always see people saying python is easier to learn but for my brain that isn’t true. I find the syntax in r to be easily understandable.

I originally used R, then dabbled in learning python for sometime.

However I switched back to mainly learning R again as it's the first one I used in my workplace and mostly everyone uses it there.

In all honesty I prefer R for its exploratory data analysis and visualisation using ggplot2.

I will learn python again in the near future for machine learning and deep learning.

I used to work only with spreadsheets and with SPSS. But learning R changed my way of thinking. Between R and Python, I can't explain but R flows naturally to me.

Professor, you are teaching exactly what I was looking for. You have no idea how much grateful I am. Thank you!

I switched from python to R since Python became very coding-focused as time goes by. R on the other hand seems more natural for a former Economics student like me.

Great video! I like how you talk about why you learn the language!

Thanks a lot, I have started learning R and will continue learning it, then later when I become verse in R then will go for Python. I started with R and now after 2 weeks getting doubts that it was not a good thing to start with R(due to python becoming more popular after reading many blogs/videos on which is better) but after listening to this video now, I am quite confident that "we need to learn both to remain competitive ".
Thanks.

I already learn python and now i am learning R, from my point of view i found R difficult to learn for beginners like me compare to python. But after spending time learning and practicing R, i decide to stick with it.

Let's talk about sectors. For the public sector, public policy sphere, which one?

Hi! Thanks for the video!
I started learning statistics and the course I'm taking uses R for the actual calculations. So I decided to stick with R although I had some previous Python experience.
Unfortunately as you mentioned R is less popular (for instance on Kaggle there are microcourses on Python but none on R). So if at some point I will have to switch to Python how helpful my R experience would be? Wouldn't it be just a waste of time then?

Great video. I just graduated wiht a bachelors in economics. Deciding weather to continue my education via a University or learning data analysis and science on my own. I learned intro R skills in a summer program at my University and working as a research assistant. Now i'm trying to improve my skills in R and I was also trying to learn python. I have since decided to focus only on improving my r skills so I will be more attractive for analyst jobs. Will you be doing any videos on projects to include on a CV/resume?

Syntax-wise python has nothing to beat R's magrittr

What would you recommend these days for doing microbiome analysis? Also do you have any videos that go over microbiome analysis?

A very mature analysis. Including the part about the possible integration between these languages. It seems to be a trend?

I am just getting into programming languages and recently finished my very first course on R, for now, I think I will invest more time getting comfortable with R and maybe move onto python someday. And this video is such an eye-opener, I want to like this 1000 times. Do you know of R packages for remote sensing data, largely raster data?

Hi DataProfessor, have you used any C++ in your bioinformatics career at all?

Hi. I am very new to programming. Are C and C++ language obsolete and not relevant to learn these days? Because everywhere I read, most would mention about R and Python.
