There are rumors of a Sony 1000xm5 coming this year, and I realized I never reviewed my Sony WH 1000XM4s. 8 months later, I'll go over what I like, love, and would like improved in the Sony 1000XM5 noise-canceling headphones. You can also weigh if these make sense for you cuz they'll definitely go on sale if the 1000XM5s drop.

What I want to be added:
-Dual connection with LDAC support
-aptX support, if possible
-Better mic quality
-More customizable equalizer settings
-Some water resistance.
These things would be great things to upgrade

I just bought these today after watching many reviews compared to the XM5 and these are better and a lot cheaper. Best Buy had them on sale for almost $80 off. Totally agree with the speak to chat. Turned it off after a few hours. I upgraded from Bose QC35 II. Love them but was only getting about 8 hours of battery.

I've had these bad boys for over 3 years now and I ADORE them. Daily use and still feel like they did when brand new. I've only now started having some issues with my cable (I use them both with wire and wireless). I'll have to replace the ear pads soon for aesthetic/cleanliness reasons. I'd easily say I use them 3+ hours a day, and they get unceremoniously tossed in my backpack often.

One thing I wish was explained to me: if you want LDAC on an Android device, you have to go into the Bluetooth control panel and set it in there. I kept trying to change it from the Sony app and got frustrated.

we had prime day 2 days ago, and i've wanted these headphones for 2 years now. suddenly remembered that i should have enough money to buy them, especially with the prime day sale, but watched some reviews (including this one) in case i change my mind last minute. i didn't. they're arriving in 2 weeks and i can't wait any longer, i'm looking forward to them so much!

I have a pair of XM4s - They're good headphones but they can be a right pain too. I find the speak to chat thing has a mind of its own, it turns itself on and off even when it's turned off via the App and the Headphones. In fact It did it so often one day that I just took them off and put them in a bag and didn't use them for the rest of the day. I also find it hard to make a connection via Bluetooth to my laptop without first having to navigate the Sony App whereas my €40 headphones have no such problems connecting to whatever device I want it to connect to. Like I said they're good sounding headphones but I think they spent too much time over engineering them.

You told in the video that you've reviewed these headphones after 1 year of use, I'd like to ask if they're still going strong? I'd like to buy a pair of headphones with good ANC and sound quality, I'm not an audiophile so I'm considering these, but i want the headphones to last long cause I won't have enough money to buy them again and again. Form all the reviews I've watched so far, i think they're the best suited for me. But i don't know if they'll last long. Can you please answer my question and also if they don't last long, can you recommend me some long lasting headphones with good ANC? Great video by the way! It answered all the questions i had except this one.

I grabbed these a couple weeks ago from Ebay refurbished for under 200 bucks. Very nice headphones, and they are replacing the Arctis 7 that I have used for years on my PC. The cool part of these for me is that I can toss them in the case and take them with me to use with my phone, which wasn't an option with the SteelSeries Arctis 7.

This headphones are FUN to use in so many ways, but the ANC and the Sound gave me Tinnitus, I bought them on November 2021 and returned them on Jan 24 2022 (Holiday return Policy) this weren't for me, also I bougjt the XM4 earbuds, holy crap, the ANC was a beast there too, the hissing on my ears came back strong again, returned them and those had the perfect fit for me, great headphones, the headband and earbuds but they damage my hearing.

This will be my first premium headphones. I've got Koss Porta Pros (the Massdrop collab and the updated Utility version) and a Samson SR950. I'm just waiting for it to arrive. Tbh, I was really disappointed with the mic quality after watching numerous reviews. Was supposed to use this for sales meetings but I decided to buy wireless lavalier mics to compensate. Hope the combo works out.

But nonetheless, I'm still excited for this. ❤️

Still planning to get xm4s even if it’s 3rd quarter of 2023 or even 2024. Found 2 deals for around 160ish usd. Secondhand. Might get of them once I had a budget.
