“And I just think everything he does is cooool.”
It’s lovely. It says so much about your love and affection for one another. Something to be very cherished and meant much more than many public displays of physical affection people often feel a need to portray to demonstrate they have this kind of cherished affection for one another.

My favorite thing about pour over coffee is seeing the bubbles foam over when you pour the hot water...the smell makes it more enjoyable

Pour overs are so much easier tho. You're often brewing an individual cup so it really takes seconds to boil that small amount of water. Also not having to pour water into the coffee machine which sometimes makes a mess is a plus and it does take some time not to make a mess as well as cleaning the filter without any grains getting on the sides of the machine. It also tastes terrible when you're used to having pour over coffee because there's no residual flavor from any old equipment it's just super clean fresh delicious coffee flavor. As soon as you take the water off the boil pretty much it gets down to the perfect temperature to extract the maximum flavor out of the beans without overheating them and burning them. I can't say enough good things about pour over coffee, because I have managed and worked in several coffee shops. A lot of coffee shops it's mandatory to try any new coffee via the pour over method so you can actually assess the true flavor. ☕💖☕💖☕💖☕

We always make our coffee by pour-over because our coffee machine broke years ago and we just never bought a new one haha

I actually work at a coffee shop. If you want a pour over you have to like pure coffee. It’s all about the flavors. And it is basically the freshest brewed drip coffee you can get
Edit: feel free to ask any coffee questions

I do this every morning bc coffee makers are disgusting. I’d rather wash a pot and filter every day than drink from a machine that I cannot wash.

Good loop on the short. Also a good short.

I’d pick espresso instead every day of the week. Like, real espresso. Not the milk drink stuff (which is tasty still). If you’re really nerdy, espresso is the way to go, mostly because it’s very challenging to make.

I’ve been using the Neouza gooseneck kettle to brew coffee lately, and the experience has been fantastic! The slender spout and ergonomic wooden handle ensure a steady pour and precise water flow, allowing for even saturation of the coffee grounds and enhancing extraction. The handle is comfortable to grip, making it easy to use for extended periods without fatigue.

The kettle is made of 304 stainless steel, which is durable and rust-resistant, preserving the pure flavor of the coffee. It comes with a built-in mechanical thermometer accurate to ±3°C, requiring no batteries, making it easy to monitor water temperature.

It’s versatile in terms of heating—you can fill it with hot water directly or use it on induction cooktops, gas stoves, and other heat sources, making it suitable for both home and café use. Cleaning is a breeze too; the stainless steel interior can be wiped clean with a sponge, and any limescale can be removed by boiling lemon juice or vinegar.

I don't want to sound like an ad, but the Clever Dropper i s the method I use and it's SO easy and makes delicious coffee. Barely more difficult than making tea. Just grind, paper, pour water, let steep / minutes, place on cup and you're done.

I only stuff for pour over coffee, it's incredible transportable, you only need hot water, so it's great for camping or LARP.
You need to come to the Drachenfest Germany next year!

Coffee making from before the age of the coffeemaker, the percolator, or the espresso machine. Granted, still requires the grinding and the invention of the filter, so not mud coffee with grounds in the cup the way coffee was so long prepared and in some places still is. But fairly traditional. Think of it as the equivalent of making tea with leaves floating free in the pot and then pouring into the cup through a strainer.
