For those of you complaining about not being able to unlock the device, a locked phone is sold at a substantial discount by a prepaid service provider with the understanding that the consumer would be on their network for at least 6 months for them to recover the cost of the subsidy. You buying that phone in itself is an agreement that you would use the 6 months of service and if not, the device is rendered useless. This is all by design and to protect both Crickets customers and Cricket themselves. For those of you who are current Cricket customers and still cannot unlock after 6 months of service should call Cricket and reference the "Unlocking Consumer Choice and Wireless Competition Act of 2015" that mandates providers to allow customers to unlock their devices. Stating this should escalate your situation and get it resolved in a timely manner.

You are life saver for sure! I broke my phone and had to send it out for repair under the warranty and remembered that I had an old Cricket phone I could use. Yes I have already completed this step and it said device unlocked successfully. Then I try to take this device and swap a phone with a different carrier. The other carrier can't find the device. It still requires cricket to unlock the device

unfortunately this doesn't help me when i was told my device has to be used for at least 6 months if service so they can unlock the device. i didn't do so and switched to mint and its been 7 months since ive had service with cricket and was STILL not able to unlock my device because it is now a brick, so I would need a better way to unlock my device than this traditional method ty :)

My "unlock device" was in black on the bottom right-hand side of the screen. I had to logout to see it.

How long have you been using this phone? How many months have you been unlocked?

This is available on any cricket phone for free however you have to have had the phone for at least 6 months and up to date on paying as well

how do you unlock your phone when your code no longer works? I changed my password because someone was also using my number. I wrote down the password and used a clear code I knew. Now my phone will now allow me back in. I mean I cannot open it to do the things said here. I've had the phone for over 2 years

FYI phone has to be connect with cricket services for 6 months to have it unlocked !!!
